Week of 8/5/19
Open house, road closure for 69th Avenue bridge project
Replacement of the 69th Avenue bridge will begin following an open house from 5-7 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church, 6815 NE Birch St.

Starting Aug. 15, 69th Avenue will close at Rock Creek. The road is expected to reopen in May. Traffic will be detoured onto Quatama Street, Cornelius and Baseline roads, Century Boulevard and Dogwood Street. Map

The existing timber bridge on 69th Avenue (formerly 227th Avenue) is being replaced with a wider single-span concrete bridge. The bridge has been restricted to one lane and weight limited to 13 tons since September 2016.

The estimated $3.5 million project is funded through the Washington County Road Fund in partnership with the city of Hillsboro.

For more information, visit the project webpage or contact Capital Project Services at 503-846-7800 or lutproj@co.washington.or.us. For a sign or spoken language interpreter at the open house, please call 503-846-7822 (or 7-1-1 for Telecommunications Relay Service) at least 48 hours prior to the event.
