CHAPTER UPDATES
Wings of Hope:
Danglers for Service Campaign Ends

The final results are in! Through the generosity of Arlington Chapter members and guests, $7,400 has been raised during the Wings of Hope: Danglers for Service Campaign. ITS is excited to report that our goal of $7,000 was exceeded. Thank you... Thank you... Thank you!

The funds raised will be sent to Mission of Grace in Carries, Haiti to support a school meal program for 300+ vulnerable children and orphans. Your support will make it possible for the entire school to receive 2 meals a day for approximately half of the current school year. In most cases, these meals are the only food the children will eat each day.

Mission of Grace is grateful for your contributions and sent the pictures below of the children and the type of meal they will receive because of your gifts.

Mission of Grace Director Kim O’Dwyer shared with us that the feeding program plays a vital role as an incentive for the children to attend school regularly. She indicated that without the meal program, there would be no school.

Special thanks to the ITS Facet, Danglers volunteers and all donors for making it possible for the Arlington Chapter to express our caring globally and to help transform a poor, rural community in Haiti by providing nutritious meals.

#GOTV #IAMAVOTER #ARLINGTONLINKSVOTE
On Election Day, March 3, 2020, polls are open from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Democrats are the only party holding a Presidential Primary in Virginia on March 3, 2020. Republicans chose to select Delegates to their National Convention at a State Convention to be held at a later date.

#PrimaryFact (WHO CAN VOTE): One Primary in March. Because Virginia doesn't require voters to state their party when registering, any registered Virginia voter can cast a ballot in the March 3, 2020, Virginia Democratic Presidential Primary Election.

#PrimaryFact: This March's primary is only to nominate a Democratic candidate for President. All other candidates, including for Senate and House of Representatives, will be decided in a June primary.

Link Cheryl Coleman Hall, Guest Chaplain
at the United States House of Representatives

Link Cheryl Coleman had the distinct honor of serving as the US House of Representative's Guest Chaplain on February 11, 2020. Guest Chaplains are recommended by congressional members to deliver the session's opening prayer in place of the House Chaplain, Father Pat Conroy.

It gives us great joy to share the Arlington (VA) Chapter's Linkspirator with the nation. Madam President, Diane Harley, along with a host of family and church members were in attendance.

Please find Link Cheryl's opening prayer below as transcribed by the US House of Representatives.

LET US PRAY, GOD OF INFINITE WISDOM, OF FAITHFULNESS OF MERCY OF JUSTICE AND LOVE, WE GATHER IN THIS PLACE AT THIS BY GRACE AND WE ARE GRATEFUL. WE PRAY FOR CLARITY OF BLIND FOR THE WORK OF SERVICE THAT MUST BE ACCOMPLISHED BY EACH ONE HERE. WE PRAY THAT THEY WILL USE TODAY WISELY, FOR TODAY WILL BECOME YESTERDAY AND TODAY IS CREATING TOMORROW. WE PRAY THAT BROKEN PLACES ARE MADE STRAIGHT AND THE BRIDGES WE ARE BUILDING ARE STRONG AND MIGHTY FOR WE MUST ALL WORK UPON THEM. WE PRAY FOR THE PERSONS WHO SUPPORT THEM, THE FAMILY MEMBERS AS THEY CARRY OUT THE AWESOME RESPONSIBILITIES THAT BRING BROTHERS, SISTERS, COMMUNITIES AND COUNTRIES. AS WE GATHER CHARGED WITH THE AWESOME RESPONSIBILITIES FOR WHICH WE HAVE BEEN CALLED, WE ARE REMINDED OF ALL THAT IS DIVINE, ALL THAT IS GOOD, ALL THAT IS MERCIFUL IN EACH OF US AND WE PRAY EACH OF US ARE ABLE TO DECLARE AT THE END OF THE DAY WITH SINCERE HEART, MAY THE WORKS BE DONE SPEAK FOR ME. FOR THE ONE WHO IS THE LIGHT THAT IS SHOWING IN THE DARKNESS THAT CANNOT BE EXTINGUISHED, WE OFFER THIS PRAYER, AMEN.
