Letter from the Board Chair
Dear Medical Alumni Board Members,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 Academic Year of the Medical Alumni Board.  It is especially great to celebrate the Medical Reunion of many of our Members.  We have achieved so much over the past year due to the hard work of our Chairs and Board Members and will improve with our excellent new staff, Kelli Myers and Kathleen Ott who are profiled in this issue along with our 2 new Board Members.  The Nominations Committee worked hard to select these new members from very competitive applicants, Communications has brought us together via these Newsletters, Awards Committee has submitted 4 successful Nominees for the Founders Award to be given on Friday, 2-3-18 and the Philanthropy Committee has emphasized regular alumni giving and Stewardship of Donors.
Supporting our Dean, Stephen Ray Mitchell, M.D., remains a major part of our mission during the curriculum reform and another important item is the solid return of our mentorship of the medical students, the M1's via White Coat Donations and M4's via our "to be re-named" MATCH program.  Many alumni reached out to mentor new graduates in their home towns and we look forward to growing that program further.  We will also be renewing the "World of Choices" event this Spring. We are inviting the President of the Georgetown Clinical Society to our meetings to increase our outreach.  Thank you so much to everyone for your help.

Regina Torsney-Durkin M.D.
