Message from the CEO
The momentum is building towards HIC 2017, HISA’s annual conference less than two weeks away in Brisbane, August 6-9. The Queensland branch and digital health community more broadly have warmly welcomed the return of HIC. With 100 new CHIAs soon to emerge from across Queensland Health, there is an exciting groundswell of change and innovation brimming in the State. To quote from the HIC 2017 Chair Dr Mal Thatcher, the Number 1 reason why you need to be at HIC 2017 is all about building your skills and competencies. “The confluence of digital technologies and the biological sciences requires strong clinical and information governance as well as new skills and competencies in digital health. HIC is your opportunity to improve and maintain your digital health competencies as well as network with digital health leaders from across Australia and overseas”.

I join with the Chair in urging health professionals, technology professionals and health executives to come to HIC and learn about clinical care and patient experience in the digital age, national developments and policies, and the information and technology impacting every one of us in Australian healthcare.
