THIS MONTH'S MEDITATION
TODAY'S DAILY WORD
Pray for Others

I PRAY KNOWING THAT DIVINE LOVE SERVES AS AN EVER-AVAILABLE SENSE OF DIRECTION.

New Thought leader H. Emilie Cady wrote, “If you really want your friends to be free, there is but one way for you: Loose them and let them go.” With these words I am reminded that anxieties about my loved ones do not serve them. Thinking of them as suffering from illness, addiction, or poverty holds them in mental bondage. Instead, I turn my thoughts to the spirit of God at the center of their being and see only the best in them and for them.
In my prayers, I seek not to change them but to create space that I may behold their truth beyond outer appearances. I envision the light of God radiating through my loved ones. I pray affirming divine love guides them to their highest good.

I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all of you.—Philippians 1:3-4
THOUGHTS FOR THE SOUL
Find Something Every Day to Be Positive About

Every day, be full of awareness
of the beauty around you.
Be full of gratitude
for friends and family,
for the goodness you find in others,
for your health and all you're capable of
Be full of acceptance
of yourself and others —
without conditions or judging,
knowing that differences and changes make life interesting.
Appreciate the gifts of laughter
and fun in your life,
and find contentment in knowing
that you can always control
your ability to look on the bright side.

A CUP OF FAITH
COURAGE TO FLY

Each fall millions of monarch butterflies, with their unique orange-and-black coloration, take a long-distance flight, a migration. They travel up to 2,500 miles to reach their winter hibernation grounds in central Mexico. The monarch butterflies look small and fragile but have a God-designed single gene honed for efficient flight. The gene makes their muscles more efficient. Their migration has been called “one of the most spectacular natural phenomena in the world.”

I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14).

Often we can feel powerless, frail, and immobilized. It may seem our challenges are too great, and our ability to accomplish them too remote. Fear can cripple us and tempt us to shrink from living life with God-given courage and risk. Though we feel fragile, God can equip us not only to endure, but to press on to accomplish His call on our lives.

Prayer Suggestion: Ask God for His courage to face the challenges of today and the future.
OCTOBER AFFIRMATIONS
WHAT ARE AFFIRMATIONS?
Affirmations are positive statements of Truth. By affirming Truth we are lifted out of false thinking into the consciousness of Spirit. Each time we pray positively and faithfully, we are calling forth the divine activity that is always within us.
We focus on these affirmations throughout the month for greater expression of our divine inner light. Giving thanks in advance, we claim each of the affirmations as true for ourselves and our loved ones, remaining open and receptive to the highest good for all.

HOW AFFIRMATIONS WORK:
"One who knows spiritual principles has a certain inner security given him by the understanding of God. Our affirmations are for the purpose of establishing in our consciousness a broad understanding of the principles on which all life and existence depend.
"In order to demonstrate spiritual principles, we must keep establishing ourselves in certain statements of the law. The more often you present to your mind a proposition that is logical and true, the stronger becomes that inner feeling of security to you.

Affirmation works because of the faculty which is most directly involved in affirmation-faith. Affirmation plays an important part in the process of divine ideas becoming facts and experiences in man's existence on earth.

The Month of October Affirmations:

Inner Peace
Peace. Peace. Peace is my true nature.

Guidance
Centered in divine wisdom, I trust my inner knowing.

Healing
I celebrate ever-flowing vitality in my body and my life.

Prosperity
My mind is one with God-Mind, in which everything is possible.

World Peace
Centered in Christ consciousness, I am the light of the world.
