American Academy of Nursing Recognizes Exceptional NHS Faculty Members

The American Academy of Nursing (AAN)
recently recognized Mary Wakefield, visiting distinguished professor at NHS, as a 2019 Living Legend for demonstrating a lifelong commitment to transforming health care. In addition, Carol R. Taylor, PhD, RN, and Joyce M. Knestrick, PhD, FNP-BC, FAANP,
were named as members of the 2019 class of Academy fellows. Wakefield, Taylor and Knestrick will be honored during the AAN annual policy conference this October.

New research has uncovered a mechanism thought to explain why some cancers don't respond to a widely used form of immunotherapy called "checkpoint inhibitors" or anti PD-1.
