We can use your help!  The 32 nd Annual Christmas Candlelight Walking Tour is just around the corner and, as usual, there are a number of ways that you and/or your business might step forward to help ensure this year's event is the best ever.  As you know this iconic community event has "many moving parts" and affords many opportunities to become engaged.  By becoming involved you contribute directly to the event's success, you'll feel good about doing so, and you'll likely meet some people and gain some exposure for your member business to boot.  Call me and let's talk about how and where you can contribute.  Here are a few concrete examples....

Before the Tour...

This Saturday, November 18th - 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
We need a team of folks to step forward to help us put strands of lights on the 70 Christmas trees that now line Broadway and Main Street.  'Many hands make light work' so plan to rendezvous at Village Hall at 9:00 am for some orientation and instruction on how to adorn our trees in holiday splendor.  We'll have some coffee and hot chocolate on hand to take the chill out of the air.  Feel free to bring family along to help out.  If we finish early you'll have time to visit the Thanksgiving Farmers Market also going on Saturday from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Be a Gift Basket donor....
Traditionally a bountiful gift basket is assembled and available to be won by a lucky Walking Tour attendee whose name is drawn in this free raffle.  We need a generous donor to provide us with the Basket itself and/or with attractive items to go in the Basket.  Let me know if yopu can contribute to this cause.  Your generosity will of course be recognized as part of the Basket promotion.

During the Tour...

On Saturday, December 2nd - between 1:00 pm and 9:00 pm

There are numerous ways you can participate on the day of the Tour...

Help staff the Kid's Activities Area in Village Hall
- Get creative!
...historically various guided kid's activities occur throughout the day.  Maybe your business or your group would like to host/sponsor a table for a children's art or craft activity? ...Make a holiday card or decorate an ornament or other keepsake?  You come up with the activity and the timeframe and we'll provide the space!  Let me know your ideas and we'll come up with the plan to accomplish.

Elves Needed!
We are in need of some friendly and gregarious 'elves' to help keep the Santa line coordinated and flowing smoothly.  We'll supply the elf attire - you provide structure for the line and help shepherd little ones through the process.  Let us know if you can help with this duty for an hour or two.

Help staff our Welcome/Visitor Center reception area
for 1 or 2 hour shifts.
This is easy duty....you get to welcome visitors, answer general questions, distribute event Programs, help people submit raffle tickets, and related duties.  You get a chance to warm up yourself and help people get the most out of their visit to Granville.

As you know the Christmas Candlelight Walking Tour is the Chamber's signature event.  Many of our local businesses report that this is their single best business day of the year - hands down.  You can help make this year the most successful ever.  Remember, it takes a Village... please give some thought to how you can help out...we'd love to include you.
