The Aisle Is Mine!

The northeastern United States had just survived the terrible winter of 2013. Those areas received 18 to 40 inches of snow, and there were over 900,000 customers without power. Over 5,300 flights were cancelled, and the airports at many locations around the country were full. It was a real mess! I was boarding a plane to fly from Houston, Texas to Ontario, California when I saw the pilot enter the front of the plane near the cockpit. Evidently, with the confusion from the flight delays, the loading of the plane had slaked in its flow that could have affected the timing of our departure. Standing in a military stance, he introduced himself and declared, "No delays in the aisle!" "The aisle belongs to me, and the seat is yours!" Everyone seemed to hold their breath as he continued. "Don't make me use my military voice on you!" Then he introduced his assisting officer. "She used to be a champion mud wrestler, and she knows all the holds!" Some of the passengers were wide-eyed, others didn't know what to think, but I giggled with total delight with his presentation. Others

picked up on my enjoyment and chuckled as well breaking the tension. When he was finished, he let us know it was an honor to fly for us and appreciated our cooperation! We all clapped, quickly found our seats and could take off on time!

We live in trying times, and they will continue to accelerate as we approach the coming of The Lord. The mass shooting that just happened in Las Vegas is a sign of that, as well as other tragedies that have taken place such as fires, storms and hurricanes.

We need to know how to keep our peace no matter what so we can be salt and light to others! We need to know how to take control of situations and lead with confidence. We all felt safe in this pilot's care due to the way he took control of our situation! There will be many looking to us for answers and strength, and we need to be ready.

In Isa 57:19 God tells us that He creates the fruit of our lips. So first we need to guard our words. Then He tells us what to say: "'Shalom, Shalom to those far off and to those nearby! ' says Adonai; 'I will heal them! '" The word "Shalom" is more than peace. It represents "wholeness and rest". Wholeness includes healing and all that is included in the "Life" that our Salvation (Yeshua) brings! It will affect what's near and a far off! Speak "Shalom" over your mind and emotions. Trust God with what concerns you. He has promised to perfect and complete it! (Ps 138:8) Before you get out of bed, enter His Shalom with praise trusting Him with yourself, your family, business, concerns, and your day. Choose to stay in His Shalom all day. Practice His presence and practice trusting Him in everything!

We are ending the eight days of celebration around the Feast of Tabernacles or Sukkoth. We are celebrating the fact God has chosen to tabernacle in and with us! His habitation that He has designed for us to dwell in, is His Shalom, His presence! His promise to us in Psalm 91 is that no evil will befall us or come near our dwelling! His angels have been given charge over us to keep us in all our ways! He will create the fruit of our lips, so praise Him for it. A picture of staying in "Shalom" is like being in a bubble where the enemy can't touch you. Picking up anxiety, fear and fret will bring your bubble down for you are agreeing with it. It's a choice we have. It's simply choosing to trust Him. and to praise Him because He is greater! It will affect all that's around us!

The seat is ours but the aisle (or the way to get there) is His! And He has provided the way! Let's align with it by guarding our peace!
