Can't vote on October 22?
Take advantage of advance voting opportunities 
You don't have to wait until October 22 to cast your vote. You can find advance voting locations, dates and times on your voter card or on the Oakville Election website.

To vote in the Oakville municipal election you must be:
  • a Canadian citizen;
  • at least 18 years old on voting day;
  • a resident, or owner or tenant of land in Oakville, or the spouse of such owner or tenant; and
  • not prohibited from voting by law
When you go to vote, bring one acceptable piece of identification that has your name and qualifying address on it in order to receive a ballot. Eligible voters are also encouraged to bring along their voter card to avoid delays.

New pedestrian crossovers  

Pedestrian crossovers provide a new way to safely cross the road. By law, drivers and cyclists must stop and wait for pedestrians to reach the other side before driving through. This fall the town is adding six new crossovers in various locations throughout town including Lakeshore Road West at Bronte Athletic Park Walk and Sixth Line at Elm Road.

Driveway windrow snow clearing 

If you are 65+ or have a physical disability or medical condition, you may be eligible for our driveway snow windrow clearing program which runs from December 1 to March 31.  Pick up an application form at Town Hall, any  library, community centre or seniors' centre or download it from our website. Registration is open until November 23.
