Book Announced
Before We Were Yours was selected as the featured book for the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library's 2020 CommunityREAD. Lisa Wingate, author of Before We Were Yours , will visit Hancock County on Thursday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m. during CommunityREAD month for a public presentation at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts.

Lynda.com to become LinkedIn Learning
This summer, Lynda.com will merge into its parent company, LinkedIn, to become LinkedIn Learning. With LinkedIn Learning, patrons will receive more personalized recommendations for Lynda.com content, suggested courses and learning paths that are more closely aligned with career goals, and educational interests.

What does this mean for current Lynda.com users?
LinkedIn Learning will still be free to use with your library card! You will need to use your LinkedIn account to login and use LinkedIn Learning, or if you do not have an account, will need to create one.

Creative Writers' Group

Share your writing with others. No writing experience needed.
Effective Communication.
August 5. 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Open and honest communication is essential in any healthy relationship, especially during an argument. Positive communication skills can help you work through things without being hurtful or abusive. The S.A.F.E. Skills for Effective Communication can help you deal with situations before they erupt or get worse. This presentation will include scenarios and role play to practice how to use the S.A.F.E. Skills. This program is presented by Open Arms.
A to Z. Zucchini
August 8. 4:30-5:45 p.m.
Professor Jennifer Little, Bluffton University, will teach various ways to use zucchini. We will also discuss some fun and nutritious facts about this garden favorite.
Hancock OGS Meeting
August 20. 6:30-8:00 p.m.
The public is invited to the monthly meeting of the Hancock County OGS (Ohio Genealogical Society) Chapter. Speaker will be announced.
Keep Your Brain and Body
in Shape
August 21. 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Science is now able to provide insight into how lifestyle choices may help you keep your body and brain healthy as you age. Learn about research in the area of diet, nutrition, exercises, cognitive activity, and social engagement. Presented by Linda Pollock of the Alzheimer's Association.
Crafter Work
August 28. 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Come join us on the last Wednesday of each month for a new craft led by videos on Creativebug! Registration is preferred. Walk-ins are welcome if there is space available. 
This month's craft: Abstract Painting. $3.00 material fee at the door.

August-StoryWalk-Riverside Park
During the month of August, the StoryWalk will feature the book Jabari Jumps by Gaia Cornwall.
As visitors take a walk clockwise around the StoryWalk, they will come to 17 display posts which contain pages of the book.   StoryWalk changes monthly.
