Board Matters
Budget Forum/Webinar
Tuesday, April 21, 7 p.m.
Due to the current health crisis, we will continue to hold Board of Education meetings virtually until further notice. Please go to https://www.facebook.com/LivSchools/ to view the Board of Education's Budget Forum meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2020. 

The Budget Forum will be held in a webinar format during which participants will be able ask questions and make comments. Registration is required. Members of the the public may also email questions/comments, with their NAME and ADDRESS to budgetquestions@livingston.org. The questions/comments that are emailed in will be read to the Board during the meeting.
Please note that the Board will not be communicating through the livestream comments on Facebook.

Kindergarten Matters
Kindergarten Registration Reminder
Livingston Public Schools would like to remind all kindergarten families, who are domiciled in Livingston, to complete the kindergarten registration process by Friday, May 15. The Board of Education offices are currently closed until further notice due to the COVID-19 health crisis. As an alternative, parents will be completing the registration process remotely during their assigned appointment time. Read more HERE.

Reading aloud with children is such a personal, special, and warm way to invite them into books. We will continue to post new read alouds from either Assistant Superintendent Lisa Capone-Steiger or a guest reader. Stay strong, stay connected, keep reading!
Resources for Well-Being
What is Social Emotional Learning? What are some ideas for mindfulness activities? How can we keep up with our health and wellness?

Find the answers to these questions and more on the "Social/Emotional Support for Families" page has been set up on the district website to house information about social and emotional support, as well as resources in order to help reduce stress and keep mentally healthy during times of crisis. We are all processing, in different ways, the changes that have impacted our everyday routines, the effect of receiving daily information about the Coronavirus and the transition to adapting to remote learning in response to this emerging situation.

Summer Academy 2020
Check out what Livingston Public Schools' Summer Academy has to offer! Five options exist for students looking for an additional academic challenge this summer: Remedial Courses, Summer Bridge Courses, Enrichment CoursesScience Courses and new this summer, the online Personal Financial Literacy Course.

ADL Webinar for Parents
The ADL will host a webinar, "Educating - and Protecting - Kids During the Pandemic" on Wednesday, April 22 as part of its Fighting Hate From Home webinar series. Jim Steyer, founder and CEO of Common Sense Media will talk about the best ways to provide students with a strong and inclusive education, and at the same time protect them from online harassment while they are plugged in for so many hours.

Junior Police Academy
The Livingston Police Department has announced that it still plans to offer a Junior Police Academy from July 13 to 17, this summer. Registration is now open. See the flyer for more information.
