MIPC Concert Series
TOMORROW, Friday, October 12 at 7:30pm, in the Sanctuary

Parents of Second Graders!
The presentation of Bibles to Second Graders is a significant faith event in the life of our church and our children. If your child is in second grade and would like to receive a Bible on October 14th, please let Becky Showalter know by emailing her at [email protected]. Please let her know your child's full name and what service you will attend on the 14th.
Building God's Kingdom:
MIPC Stewardship 2019
Our stewardship campaign kicks off on October 14 with the presentation of a special video entitled, "Build Your Kingdom Here", featuring our MIPC family. Please join us at our 8:15am, 10:35am or 5pm worship services for the fun debut!

We are so grateful for the generosity of the MIPC Community. In 2018, we have an operating budget of $1,200,000, which is enabling the church to live into our call to worship God and serve God's people in the world. To continue this in 2019, the projected MIPC operating expenses are $1,260,000. This is a $60,000 (or 5%) increase over last year. Please consider how you can give in 2019.

Pledge forms will be mailed out on Oct. 15 and online pledging is available at www.mipc.org/stewardship. Thank you for your faithfulness!
Elder and Deacon Nominations
The Nominating Committee is looking for suggestions for new Elders and Deacons. There is an insert in the Sunday bulletin to complete and return. This is the last call to provide us with your suggestions for who will make a good candidate(s). Or you may email your suggestions to [email protected].

Serving as an Elder is a high calling to offer servant leadership to the congregation, and an experience of spiritual growth. Elders have responsibilities in several areas of the life of the church including exercise in leadership, governance, spiritual discernment, and discipline.

Deacons have a high calling in our denomination - one of compassion, witness, and service, sharing in the redeeming love of Jesus Christ for the poor, the hungry, the sick, the lost, the friendless, the oppressed, those burdened by unjust policies or structures, or anyone in distress.  At MIPC, deacons reach out to the congregation as a whole and serve on a team that focuses on one specific area of ministry that encompasses compassion, witness and service.

Individuals who are called to these particular ministries should be persons of strong faith, dedicated discipleship, and love of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Their manner of life should be a demonstration of the Christian gospel in the church and in the world.

This is a video series by Walter Brueggemann, who is arguably America's leading Old Testament scholar and theologian. Facilitated by Rosemary Sixbey.
Fall Art Exhibit
Our new Courtyard exhibit features the work of Judith Roan and Ron Reeder. Judith and Ron are a wife and husband team of enthusiastic amateur wildlife photographers. In 2002 they retired from careers in science, working at the Fred Hutch Cancer Center. Sanctuary Flowers
Each Sunday, congregation members have the opportunity to provide the beauty of flowers to the sanctuary. Many donate to honor loved ones who have passed, celebrate an anniversary or birthday or just because they love seeing flowers at church. Whatever the reason, the thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated. Flowers can come from your garden or a flower shop, whatever works best for you.
Because some of our members and guests are allergic to floral fragrances it is best to plan flowers without fragrances. Thank you.

If you would like to sign up to provide flowers for an upcoming Sunday service or for more information please continue to this  link .
