Ways to help the Discernment Team
- Pray, and continue to pray each day. We have a special prayer that we'll pray as a congregation each Sunday (written by Jeff Wescott, a Discernment Team member), and you can use that prayer, or any prayer you wish to use, including sitting in silence with God.
- Provide a meal for the Team when they meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month.

 reading the Bible, using the book
The Bible Tells Me So - Why Defending Scripture Has Made Us Unable To Read It by Peter Enns. This is a hands-on, learn by doing, open discussion class, and any questions about the Bible are fair game. Join us for six Wednesdays for potluck and lively discussion.
Adopt-A-Highway Oct. 13 at 9am
Please come out and help us pick up Grace Church's Adopt-A-Highway section. We will be cleaning up the roadside on Saturday morning, October 13. Please plan to meet at the Applebee's Restaurant parking lot at 9:00am to sign-in and receive a short safety briefing. Bags will be provided but please bring gloves if you have them. You can work as long or as briefly as you want. Please call Chris Johnson at 640-2472 to let him know you can help. We need you! Thank you.

Did you know that Grace was the first church in Traverse City to be a participant in the CROP Walk? This year we would like to see many participate! There will be a table in the Commons each Sunday from Sept. 23rd until the morning of Oct. 14th with information & sign up sheets. We look forward to everyone being part of this worthy cause, which helps the hungry all over the world as well as locally & our own Food Pantry.

Dismantling Racism Workshop Oct. 27
Becoming Beloved Community
St. Mark's, Grand Rapids
 The Diocesan Commission on Dismantling Racism invites you to a day of worship, presentations, workshops, and small group sessions, to be held on Oct. 27th from 9am - 2:30pm at St. Mark's, Grand Rapids.
The speaker will be Heidi Kim, Staff Officer for Racial Reconciliation for the Episcopal Church. The Becoming Beloved Community workshop is a step toward making visible God's likeness and goodness in every person and in the life of the church institution in which we minister so that church leaders can be healing and reconciling agents in our communities and in our time.
This workshop is open to all members of the diocese and does meet the requirements for anti-racism training for those seeking elected office in diocesan leadership roles. Cost to attend is $20. Contact the Diocesan office to register at 269-381-2710,

Oleson's Community Share Program
Here's how it works:
- You shop at Oleson's for groceries (liquor sales do not qualify for points)
- Turn in your receipts to the church. Look for the envelope on the bulletin board in the Parish Hall, and place your receipts inside it.
- We submit receipts back to Oleson's
- We are granted cash rewards for the food pantry ($1 spent on groceries = 1 cent in Community Share points)
For every $5000 in receipts we submit, we receive $50 in cash for our food pantry. Every little bit helps!
