Winter Activity Registration

Every student that intends to tryout or participate in a winter sport must complete the Winter Activity Registration.  This simple online form conveniently streamlines all necessary paperwork to ensure your student's safety and a successful season.

Please read the directions on the form carefully.  If you have any questions, you may contact the Enrollment Office at SFDHS at 614-265-3380 or admissions@desales.co.

Parents should log in to their Parent Portal to complete the form.   The Winter Activity Registration link will be located on the bottom left of the screen and must be completed through a web browser (not the PowerSchool App).

This registration must be completed prior to your first official team tryout or activity.
Stallions in the Spotlight

St. Francis DeSales High School is proud to announce that seniors Jakob Behrendt and Joseph Kramer have been named Commended Students in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program. Commended Students placed in the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2019 competition by taking the 2017 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Alumnus Ed Bannen (CPA) '07 spoke last week to Business Club students on preparing for a business profession. His talk centered on soft skills and interviewing skills.

We celebrated our Fall Grandparents Day last Friday with a wonderful breakfast and mass. A special thanks to the choir for singing during the event.

Members of the SFD Autism Awareness Club Team participated in the Autism Speaks Walk on Sunday. The  team was led by SFD junior Carly Fuchs and Club Advisor Mr. Montenaro.  The Walk is to raise funds for autism research and cures for children on the autism spectrum.

Italian
Club members volunteered at different booths at the Columbus Italian Festival this past weekend, including helping at the children's tent and serving food in the church. Other members did cultural presentations in the cultural tent, and some led the rosary in the church in Italian. The SFD Boys Soccer team also participated in the Columbus Day Italian festival parade.

Retired Social Studies teacher Mrs. Seggerson traveled with four members of the Environmental Club and members of the Ohio Sierra Club to a public hearing in Pittsburgh. They spent the day to testify in front of representatives from the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Transportation in defense of the protection of clean car standards. Mrs. Seggerson and sophomores Alexis Ware and Arantxa Nava-Pino were able to testify to support clean air standards.

Congratulations to senior Michael Pallaci who was our SFD Westerville Rotary Student of the Month.

Special thanks to St. James the Less alumni who assisted with their alma mater's recent Parent Teacher Conferences.

SFD Head Girls Soccer Coach Sarah Gantz was nominated by a Central Ohio soccer official last week for the Excellence in Sportsmanship Award for maintaining a positive coaching attitude and never a harsh word for the officials even when her team was down and engaged in a tough game. As the nomination reads, "If all coaches were like Sarah, we would not have any referee retention issues due to lack of sportsmanship." Thank you Coach Gantz for representing the Stallions so well, and for setting a great example to your players, parents and other coaches. *Coach Gantz is a previous Excellence in Sportsmanship winner.

Thank you to all who gave and participated in the St. Vincent dePaul Walk for the Poor on September 29th.  The symbolic walk, around the DeSales track, reminds us to "walk a mile in their shoes" and the money raised helps the SVDP Club at DeSales High School reach out to help the poor.
