October 11, 2018
Greetings!

This week's Gospel reading focuses on the need to stop and rest, and listen for what Jesus has to say to you:

Jesus entered a village
where a woman whose name was Martha welcomed him.
She had a sister named Mary
who sat beside the Lord at his feet listening to him speak.
Martha, burdened with much serving, came to him and said,
"Lord, do you not care
that my sister has left me by myself to do the serving?
Tell her to help me."
The Lord said to her in reply,
"Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things.
There is need of only one thing.
Mary has chosen the better part
and it will not be taken from her."
Luke 10:38-42

We have had a tremendous first quarter in the classrooms and extracurricular activities. My vision is for students to not feel the need to take home books, their chromebook, or any homework over the break (Friday, Oct. 12 - Monday, Oct. 15) so they may have a true break from school. We are also encouraging teachers to do the same.

I hope you and your family enjoy the long weekend as we prepare for a new start the second semester!
