Principal's Message
October 12,  2018
Dear Families and Friends of OLQP:
Student achievement and academic success are paramount at OLQP. Teachers continue education and apply their new skills and learning throughout the year. At staff development meetings, teachers share knowledge and collaborate in order to improve the program. Teachers continue to discover new resources and materials in order to enrich students' learning experience. Some of the lessons witnessed this week include binary code, scientific method including making observations and recording using appropriate methods of measurement and expression, as well as the joy of discoveries found in the learning garden. Fine arts have not been left behind. Select Choir and Band have gotten started. Students' (teachers' and room parents') creative efforts have produced amazing projects that can be seen around the school. Ninety-four pieces of student art work were submitted to the Brazoria County Fair by OLQP students. Both Saints Soccer and Volleyball teams had wins this week! Go, Saints!
During this month of the Rosary, we honored Our Lord and Blessed Mother by praying the Living Rosary. This beautiful OLQP tradition brings the students and staff together for a candlelit prayer service. We will continue to learn about the great treasures found in the Rosary as we experience the depth of its mysteries in a special way throughout October. Know that, in community, we pray for each of our OLQP families - past and present. Thank you for being part of the mission and ministry of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School.
Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam,
Mrs. Marianne Mechura, M.Ed.

Did You Know?
                Fall Festival
The festival is a matter of days away. The importance of this event cannot be underestimated. The revenue produced helps keep the cost of tuition more affordable that it would otherwise be. Sr. Antoinette's concept was one that has served the school well over the years. Families are able to contribute in a meaningful way through their gifts of time and talent by selling their raffle tickets and meeting their family goal. Your support by donating auction items, attending the festival, bidding on auction items, enjoying BBQ, and bringing your friends and family is important. The participation of each and every family really does make a difference!
