Download Academy.18, the Academy's meeting app, as your mobile event guide for Academy 2018 San Antonio! Use the app to build your personal schedule, keep track of your CE credits, easily find sessions, presenters and exhibitors, receive important reminders and updates, and find things to do in San Antonio. 

The Online Planner allows you to view an interactive desktop version of the app that syncs with Academy.18 on your mobile device (must be logged in). You can also use the app in an Internet browser on any device, without the need to download it.

2018 Korb-Exford Dry Eye Career Development Award Recipient

The American Academy of Optometry Foundation (AAOF), is pleased to announce the 2018 recipient of the Korb-Exford Dry Eye Career Development Grant. Stephanie Ann McLin Cox, OD, FAAO, is a graduate of the Southern College of Optometry, currently pursuing Doctor of Philosophy in Vision Science at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA.
 
In 2010, Drs. Donald Korb and Joan Exford generously donated $25,000 to establish this grant to support an individual to further their knowledge in the broad area of dry eye. Read more...

2018 Beta Sigma Kappa Research Fellowship Recipient

The AAOF, in collaboration with the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society, is pleased to announce Xiaohua Zhuang, PhD, as the 2018 recipient of the Beta Sigma Kappa (BSK) Research Fellowship. Dr. Zhuang is an Assistant Professor at the Illinois College of Optometry.  The fellowship is designed to provide support for early career optometric and vision science faculty research. This award will fund Dr. Zhuang's project,  "Flicker Adaptation Probes Detection of Contrast Sensitivity Loss in Early Glaucoma". Read more...
