Just Released from the IMPT

In collaboration with key IMPT advisors, the Secretariat is pleased to announce the publication of "A strategic action framework for multipurpose prevention technologies (MPTs) combining contraceptive hormones and antiretroviral drugs to prevent pregnancy and HIV" in the European Journal of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care. This article outlines a framework that was developed as an outcome of a series of expert meetings held between 2014 and 2016, which focused on identifying opportunities and challenges for MPTs that combine hormonal contraception (HC) with antiretroviral drugs into single products. The framework aims to present an actionable strategy, by addressing key research gaps and outlining the key areas for progress, to guide current and future HC MPT development.
Explore the recently launched interactive GIS mapping tool to visualize the "hot spots" where MPTs for HIV prevention and contraception can have the greatest impact.

IPPF is looking for an experienced professional with a solid background in research and political analysis on trends on advocacy, policy, implementation and accountability on sexual and reproductive health and gender equality to increase the organization's positioning as thought leader and influencer on SRHR. Funding Opportunities

RFA-HD-19-015 Development of Novel Nonsteroidal Contraceptive Methods (R61/R33 - Clinical Trial Not Allowed) - NICHD is accepting applications to support and facilitate multidisciplinary research approaches for the development of novel nonsteroidal contraceptive products for women and men, which could potentially include MPTs with contraceptive and infection prevention properties. Applications due 6 November.
