Acceleration East High School
Community Brief
 Thursday, October 11, 2018

The "moment" is that signature time that defines your high school experience. It usually isn't planned for, it just hits you and stays with you for the rest of your life. And the moment doesn't have to be a moment, but it should be a single experience that defines this four year time period. The idea of the "moment" was evident on the faces of the students attending the Orlando Museum of Art, or the Buddhist Temple in Kissimmee (please see these two stories below).

Perhaps a field trip, or speaking to a museum curator was their "moment." Maybe it's the person you always wanted to attend Homecoming or Prom with actually saying "yes." Maybe it's making an interception, winning a match, crushing that solo in the play, building the undefeated robot, developing a prosthetic for a class project, or earning honor roll. Whatever it is, we need to keep creating moments for our kids that could be THE ONE.

Sincerely,

Douglas K. Loftus
Principal
