Lunch Local 2017
Highlights from CU Lunch Local 2017
Since LCUL launched CU Lunch Local in 2013, Louisiana credit unions have given back more than $100,000 to local businesses. This is certainly something to brag about, but lets make it even more!

In addition to CU Lunch Local, LCUL has partnered with Gas Station TV (GSTV) and CU Solutions Group (CUSG) to help you support the great credit union story, increase awareness and engage new members. We will run 20-second commercials  that showcase the value of local credit unions at GSTV stations in Louisiana. Click here to view the video ad.

Does your credit union have something special planned for next week's celebrations? Let us know by sharing your stories with Lacey H. Weaver, SVP of Member Engagement.

October's 'Pre-Fab Marketing Toolkit' Focuses on #CreditCards
LCUL recently distributed October's 'Pre-Fab Marketing Toolkit', providing tips to share with your members and media outlets.

Choosing the best credit card for your lifestyle can have a considerable impact on your members' overall financial health. Help them choose the credit card that works best by using October's toolkit, a complimentary resource as part of your League membership. This resource provides timely, basic, and ready-to-go content to help increase member engagement via your communication channels (newsletters, websites, blogs, social media, etc).

Distributed the last week of the month, each toolkit includes articles, social media posts, and graphics as well as a template to share with your local media. Additionally, we pull media clippings of Louisiana credit unions in the news to help spark media outreach ideas. Collectively, there was an estimated $619,454 in earned media in the month!

To help maximize this resource or to start receiving the monthly toolkit, reach out to Lacey H. Weaver, VP of Communications & Public Relations.

Pelican State CU Named Best Place to Work in Baton Rouge 5 Years in a Row
Pelican State CU was recently named one of the 2018 Best Places to Work in Baton Rouge. The awards program is a project of the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report, the Greater Baton Rouge SHRM, an affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management, and Best Companies Group.

This survey and awards program was created in 2014 to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Baton Rouge, benefiting its economy, its workforce and businesses. Each year since its inception in 2014, Pelican has consistently been a part of this exclusive group of companies who support an employee-centered culture.

Now having over 250 employees, Pelican moved from the Small Business Category to the Large Business Category in 2018. Pelican earned the #3 spot on this coveted list of 25 large companies despite being in direct competition with those much larger than the credit union.

Pelican's CEO Jeffrey K. Conrad shared, "This is an award that the entire credit union earned together. Our unique culture exists because of each and every Pelican employee who takes ownership in the credit union and brings their best every day. I consider it a privilege to work with the Pelican family, and I am so proud of this recognition."

Ascension CU Cools Off the Community with Free Snowballs
Even with record breaking heat this summer, Ascension CU found a way to cool things down.  On Tuesday, August 7, staff braved the high temperature and offered their "Random Act of Kindness" by serving free snowballs to members of the community.  In honor of the beginning of the school year, the credit union served hundreds of snowballs to those who stopped by. Families were all smiles, and children enjoyed a much-needed treat before heading back to the classroom.
