Magazines (and more!) Drive
The annual Magazines (and more!) Drive is underway!  Sales returns will be accepted October 9-19. Students have the opportunity to sell more than magazines -- j ewelry, gift wrap, pizzas, cookie doughs, gifts, team cups, and more are also available.  Only magazine subscriptions, nuts, and gifts are available to order online at http://bit.ly/yorkcatholicsprint the confirmation page, and bring it to school with the rest of your orders. All refrigerated items must be ordered through a student using a paper order form. The perishable items must be picked up on Wednesday, November 14, from 3-6:30 PM. We cannot store any items not claimed during this time.

Encourage students to contact parents of recent YC graduates to encourage them to renew their magazine subscriptions they purchased in previous years. If you place your order or renewal online, be sure to print the confirmation and submit it with your returns.

Don't forget -- your student can earn up to $2,500 in tuition credit for college! Be sure to review the "Tuition Rewards" flyer in your Magazine (and more) Drive packet for details.

As always, we ask for your help to count and record the returns. No experience is necessary. Training takes less than 15 minutes. If you would like to help, please contact Sheila Gick at [email protected] .

Mission Collection

October is Respect Life month.  YC students built and installed a Cemetery of Innocents on the front lawn to remind us to pray for the souls of the babies who have been lost to abortion. The next mission collection on Wednesday, October 17, will benefit the Women's Care Center in York. This organization provides alternatives to abortion and encourages the healthy development of the family.  They offer maternity and infant clothing, cribs, car seats, formula, diapers, and other baby items to those in need.  The center also offers parent education programs, counseling, and support services to help their clients build critical parenting skills. Please be generous to this local charity which has been helping women and saving innocent lives in the York area for many years.
OpenHouse

York Catholic High School is hosting a Fall Open House on Sunday, October 21, from 12-2 PM.  Prospective families considering educational options for their child for grades 7-12 will have a chance to take a tour of the school, talk with teachers who will be answering questions, and hear from York Catholic's current parents who will be mingling with guests and sharing YC experiences.
