New Communion Cups- We forgot to announce this past Sunday that the Communion Cups used at the 8:30 and 11:00 am worship services were not plastic. Rather they are compostable and biodegradable and completely eco-friendly!

Commitment Sunday - With Grateful Hearts we approach Commitment Sunday on October 28, giving thanks to God for all our blessings and for the financial resources that God has provided. We do this as a congregation and as individuals, knowing that God calls each of us to support the work of DCPC in proportion to our ability to do so. On October 28, we will demonstrate that support by submitting our financial pledges for 2019. There will be only two worship services, and in between those services we will celebrate with a congregation-wide brunch. October 28 Schedule:

8:30 a.m. Worship Service in Lingle Chapel
9:45 a.m. Brunch for everyone in Congregation House
11:00 a.m. Worship Service in Sanctuary

If you aren’t able to be with us on Commitment Sunday, you may send your pledge to the church office or you can pledge at www.dcpc.org.

Parents Group - Will talk about prayer and why it’s an important part of our relationship with God. Communication is important in every relationship, but prayer can sometimes feel tricky or confusing. We’re going to discover more about prayer and what prayer looks like for each of us. Parents Group meets in the library 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Children's Ministry

Youth Group - Have you ever prayed for something and felt like you got absolutely nothing from God? But what if prayer isn’t just about getting what we want? This week, we’ll discover that maybe the best way we can view prayer is to see it as a way of growing closer to God. Dinner is 5-5:30 p.m., Youth Group 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Prayer at the Close of Day, Oct. 21, 7:30 p.m., Davidson United Methodist Chapel. A contemplative service of music, prayer, silence, scripture. Led by musicians from DCPC and DUMC, with music from the traditions of Compline and Taizé.
