A Reconciling in Christ synod

The History of the Lutheran Center Land
|
This week we as a nation commemorated Indigenous Peoples day. As the Rocky Mountain Synod we confess that we are living and working on stolen land. As part of our continued commitment to the repudiation of the Doctrine of Discovery, we acknowledge the peoples who originally resided on our land and how it came to be the site of the Lutheran Center.

A team of Guardian Angels in Denver show up to accompany children through the immigration process, offering presence and prayer.
Immigration court for children is on the first Wednesday and Thursday of the month from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Guardian Angels let these children know that they are not alone, that God and the Church is with them as they go through this often scary and totally foreign process.

to the Guardian Angels, first shown at the SW California Synod Assembly in March, 2016. and read an

Rocky Mountain Synod 2019 Youth Gathering
|
|
This year's gathering will focus on each participant as a uniquely created child of God called to live out baptismal promises in unique and various ways. We will look at themes of spiritual gifts, vocation, community, and service as we gather and are then sent to boldly share the love of God in this world.
The YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park will also let us explore creation and relaxation in the mountains as we enjoy fellowship with middle and high school students from all parts of the Rocky Mountain Synod. While all students will gather for some large group worship time, separate tracks for Middle and High School students will allow each group to participate in age-appropriate conversation and activity based learning.

Car Wash for Hilario at St. Mark's!
Sunday October 14, 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
|
Hilario Ramirez Silva came to the U.S. in 2001 at the age of 19, seeking employment and a better life for his family. In 2013, Hilario moved to Colorado and met Juliana. The two grew close and got married. Juliana was suffering through a series of medical problems, including cancer and an aneurysm in her brain. Hilario became a solid support for Juliana. His dedication to caring for her helped her regain eyesight. Juliana's medical problems continue to this day, making her reliant on Hilario's financial and emotional support.
Despite being here for 17 years, committing no criminal offenses, and being married to a U.S. Citizen, the pathway to residency and citizenship is still long and expensive. Hilario needs your help to raise $14,000 for legal fees so that he won't be deported. Please support Hilario and his wife Juliana by contributing to their
GoFundMe at
https://www.gofundme.com/help-hilario-stay-home - and attending their
Car Wash on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at
St.Mark’s Lutheran Church, 111 E Del Mar Cir, Aurora, CO 80011 (
map). Suggested donation for the car wash is $10. Juliana will also be selling burritos.
If the weather is poor, we will not be washing cars, but will still be selling burritos and raising support for Hilario. See you there!
