Making a difference in schools. Together.

MAY 7, 2020
We LOVE our outstanding teachers and staff!
Celebrate and Support DCSD Teachers and Students while enjoying a delicious dinner from Fogo de Chao, Lone Tree. From May 4th - May 8th, 10% of all sales of to-go food, beverages and gift cards will go toward the DCSD Emergency Relief Fund . These funds will be used to support education and training for remote learning, offset the cost of school lunches that are still being served, and help the students, teachers and schools in other ways.
Budget – Work with your team to establish the budget for next school year. Your budget must be approved according to your bylaws and submitted to the Foundation.

Submit all transactions to Kim Meigs at kmeigs@dcsdk12.org by June 18, 2020. Failure to meet this deadline could risk no payment.

Final statement reconciliation – Be extra careful about reviewing and reconciling your June statement. This statement will establish your carry-over balance for next year.

Update the Foundation with any new officer information using the Chapter Contact Form. If you are onboarding a new Treasurer make sure to reach out to Kim Meigs to set up training.

Refer to the Checklist for Financial Responsibilities for weekly, monthly and year end responsibilities.
My School Bucks Refund Reminders
If you need to refund items or refund an entire product, please reach out to Cristy Bradfield at cbradfield@dcsdk12.org. Please provide Name of Product, Name of Purchaser, and if possible, include the purchase date.
When items are refunded, please note the purchaser will receive back 100% of the purchase price. The Chapter will NOT be refunded the original fee associated with the purchase.

A standard order report run through MSB will not pick up any refunds associated with your product. Instead, please use these directions to run a report that will reflect all purchases as well as the refunded items.
Q: Our bylaws do not address virtual meetings - does the foundation believe we can have them?
A: Unless otherwise provided in the bylaws, the board of directors may permit any director to participate in a regular or special meeting by, or conduct the meeting through the use of, any means of communication by which all directors participating may hear each other during the meeting. A director participating in a meeting by this means is deemed to be present in person at the meeting. < CO Rev Stats (2018) >
Q: Should we run elections virtually or postpone until the Fall?
A:  If you want to vote by email you need to review your bylaws and make sure an electronic vote is allowed or amend them to state that electronic voting is allowed.
This fund will provide assistance to the ongoing efforts to help our students, families, teachers and staff succeed at this time of uncertainty.
The goal of this program is to collect, assemble and distribute new backpacks and school supplies to students in need in Douglas County.
The second annual gala will unite the DC community in support of programs in STEM, Career Tech Education, the Arts, and many more areas.
