Dayton-Cincinnati (Chapter#2) is a spirited professional chapter

Dayton-Cincinnati professional chapter keeps the event cauldron bubbling all year long by providing its 120 chapter members with networking, professional development, educational and volunteer opportunities. It's no tricks but lots of treats for chapter members as the chapter has hosted seven events and participated/attended in 12 (total events) so far in 2018. Chapter officers prioritized an aggressive schedule to give members the opportunity to meet, network and hopefully have a return on their investment in IISE

Headshots & Headhunters - Professional HR representatives are present to help members develop their professional profile by conducting mock interviews, reviewing resumes, and giving tips on future job hunting. Also a photographer to take headshots for members' professional profiles and bios will be there.

  • Professional chapter #22, HOUSTON, is back in action with a new president, (John Rogers), treasurer (Wayne Mausbach) and a new vice president (Al Aman). John is a graduate of Texas A&M and is now Director of Engineering for the Houston Astros. Wayne graduated from the University of Houston and has over 35 years of manufacturing, engineering and commercial leadership experience in the Discrete Manufacturing Industry. Al is currently working at the UT Health Science Center as a Process Improvement Consultant.

  • Read the third edition of the The Org Chart, the newsletter for the IISE Greater Wichita Professional Chapter!  Among its stories, this edition carries the news about the expanded 2020 South Central United States Regional Conference to be held at Wichita State including new professional track for the conference.
  • On Sept. 27, IISE Memphis chapter members toured the Shaw Water Pumping Station in Cordova, Tennessee.

  • Regional conference chairs may now apply for a Chapter Development Fund Grant to assist with expenses of hosting a regional conference. This grant is in addition to custodial funds already being offered by IISE.

Creativeness in Ergonomics (CE) Student of the Year Award

U.S. North Central Region holds Virtual Meeting

On August 29, IISE's U.S. North Central Region held its first virtual meeting. The meeting agenda included two encore presentations from the  2018 IISE Annual Conference plus time for discussion and networking.
   
KaytLynn Riel (Katie) spoke on the topic oEnhancing Resource Availabilty in the Wire Harnessing Department for FORCE America. Katie is a 2018 graduate from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and was the undergraduate student paper competition winner for the North Central Region. She is currenty in a leadership development program with Parker Hannifin.  

David Busacker spoke on the topic of 
Reduce 8 out of 8 Wastes with 3D Printing. 
David is an applications engineer for Stratsys, the world's largest 3D printer manufacturer based in Eden Praire, Minnesota. He graduated in 2016 from the University of Minnesota's Industrial and Systems Engineering Program, earning summa cum laude with a thesis on 3D printing business models in the peer economy.
