Our newsletter today features our blog posts about the Torah portion this week, Bamidbar, Numbers 1:1- 4:20.

Bamidbar means 'in the desert', and the portion

opens in the midst of the desert, where Moses is instructed by the Almighty to conduct a census of the tribes of Israel. It's all about the numbers.

In our blog post, we examine some of the specific instructions and reasons for the census. Then we look at abortion numbers, and close with an acknowledgment of each human life and the devastating consequences of abortion on human society.
