UNISON PRAYER - OCTOBER 6/7
Unison Prayer Logo
Almighty and loving God, you have gathered us here from the ends of the world to commune around Christ's table. We join our brothers and sisters in remembering Christ's sacrifice for us. For the opportunity to eat and drink together and for the life we have received, we give you thanks and praise. In the abundance of the many gifts you have given us, grant us insight and ability to grace another person's life with love and encouragement. Redeem, restore and remold us until we are made new in our words and actions. Transform our daily bread into the bread of life, and the cup we drink into the cup of salvation. We pray this in Christ's name. Amen.

  OCTOBER IS PASTOR APPRECIATION MONTH
Pastor Appreciation
Did you know October is Pastor Appreciation month?

This month is set aside to honor our pastors for their sacrificial service. What are creative ways that you might say thank you?

Our clergy need to be reminded how much we notice and appreciate all that they do. Better yet, let's not stop with October! What would it look like to show appreciation in small and big ways throughout the whole year.
  SWEET LIFE CAFE
Before Amen
Have you ever been asked to say a prayer at a meeting or over a meal, and, all of a sudden, you were at a loss for words? Have you wondered why some people seem to be at ease when they pray while you struggle to put two sentences together that make sense?

Author/Pastor Max Lucado tackles the subject of prayer in his book Before Amen. Max writes in a conversational tone about his own struggles with prayer and what he's learned over the years that has helped him when he prays.

Country Music Hall of Fame member George Strait says, "If you've never read one of Max's books, read this one. I promise, you will be inspired."

Come and be inspired at Sweet Life Café beginning Thursday, October 18, 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm in Room 1 as we consider how Max's insights might apply to our own prayer lives. Bring your lunch and bring a friend!

To register and reserve a copy of Before Amen ($10.50), contact the church office or Pastor Jean.
