My name is Anass Banna I am the new Small Farms Agent for Caswell County Cooperative Extension. As a Small Farms Agent, I am responsible for providing research based information to small and limited resource farmers. I work with home owners, vegetable growers, community gardens as well as high tunnels farmers. I will also network with Caswell County schools and the Farmer’s markets. To add, I will work to advise and guide farmers on production, financial management, as well as USDA programs available for small farmers.
Before accepting the position in Caswell County, I worked as Small Farms Agent in Hertford County for six years. Prior to that, I worked at North Carolina A&T State University Research Farm for a year as Research Agent.
I graduated from North Carolina A&T State University with a Bachelors in Biological Engineering and Master’s degree in Plant, Soil and Environmental Sciences.
I can not wait to meet and interact with the residents, farmers, and volunteers in the Caswell County community. I look forward to educating you all about Small Farms. If you have any additional questions about how I can assist you please call our office at 336-694-4158 or you can reach me by email at ambanna@ncsu.edu
