Dear K-8 St. Mark Families,

St. Mark School's Distance Learning Program is up and running. We hope that you found the assignments clear, and Google classroom easily accessible to those that are using it. We appreciate your patience and support in partnership to ensure the continuity of learning during this temporary closure.

I've received a few emails regarding assignments for specials classes. I understand that this is a stressful and unprecedented time for all of us, however; in order to receive credit for Distance Learning days, students are required to participate in a complete, well-rounded curriculum. Specials assignments are due by 5:00pm on Friday of each week (unless otherwise communicated by the teacher), to allow for students to manage their time with core subjects. These assignments can be used to help students refresh their mindset by engaging in different learning styles including movement, listening, and creativity.

Again, it is imperative that all students engage in and are responsible for completing assignments during this prolonged absence. It is beneficial to students' educational development to be actively learning during this school closure. Furthermore, each day we can provide evidence that students are engaged in learning (despite not being physically present in the building), it could be considered a school day.

Teacher's Office Hours
During Distance Learning, teachers are available via email from 8:30-3:00pm, Monday through Friday. Teacher will respond to emails within 2 hours of receipt.

Teachers will do their best to respond in a timely fashion to any emails received between 3:00-6:00pm.

All emails received after 6:00pm will be answered by 10:00am on the following school day.

P.E. Assignment
It has come to my attention that a few grade levels did not receive the P.E. assignment for the week. Please Click here for this week's P.E. Assignment for grades K-8 from Ms. McCone.

K-2 assignment can be found on page 1.
The assignment for grades 3-8 can be found on page 3.

Ms. McCone can be contacted via email: mccone@stmarkschool.org , should you have any questions.

5-8 Families
After further discussion with the Middle School teachers today, we felt that a consistent due date and time for assignments would be beneficial to meet the needs of all students.

Therefore, all work assigned today for core classes (Religion, Math, History, Science, Reading/English) will now be due at 9:00am, tomorrow, March 17th.

If you are a room parent for your child's classroom, kindly forward this and future communications regarding distance learning to your parents, to ensure all St. Mark families have the most up to date information.

On a personal note, being a part of our St. Mark community during this time is further proof that our community is strong and there is power in numbers. I truly believe that if we pray together and have faith, we will come through this unprecedented health crisis together. I pray that everyone stays healthy.

Yours in Christ,
