September Success Stories
Thank you to all who participated in making each event a great success!
International Institute's event at St. Louis Tower Grove park on August 26th and 27th
featured food, dance, and cultural items from all over the world. Attendance for the
weekend event was 125,000.
Several local schools brought students to attend the Changing Lanes 2017 Transition Summit event in Ozark.
MPACT staff presented "
Bullying Prevention: What Parents Can Do" and i
nformation on MPACT was passed out to well over 100 attendees.
The Parent & Caregiver Retreat was sponsored by Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. Approximately 100 families throughout the state of Missouri participated in the event, which included information and resources on various topics including special needs tracking and awareness, maintaining strong relationships, vision and hearing impairment, effectively communicating your child's needs, and how to start a special needs account for your child. The event takes place each year in Lake Ozark and is free to parents who are enrolled in the program.
The Eldorado Springs Area Fair had over 100 people in attendance from several area schools. Discussions focused on transition from high school to adult life. There was also a car show display and a display on fire prevention and safety from the
Eldorado Springs fire department and police department.

The Summit is a one-day learning experience designed for students who have disabilities and
family members, educators, case managers, and professionals. Summit sessions are focused on preparing youth for transition to post-secondary education, employment, independent living, and community experiences.

- School teams of educators and student (a minimum of one student required): Free
- Family member with student: Free
- Young adult with a disability (18 to 26 years old): Free
- Family members without a student or young adult: $25.00
- Professional without a student or young adult: $50.00
