Greetings!

[Sorry to re-send! - this email includes an updated "Cotton Tail" link to correct a small typo in the credits in the previous link]:

As I finish up the Spring semester remotely at Brooklyn College, I wanted to share these two videos featuring the Brooklyn College Global Jazz Big Band I direct, recorded remotely while we all shelter-in-place (which I subsequently audio mixed and video-edited). We were originally planning 3 concerts this semester including a Duke Ellington tribute (featuring David Murray). These videos have allowed us to capture at least a sense of some of what would have been presented, and I really hope you enjoy them!

The first is my adaptation/re-arrangement of Duke Ellington's "Cotton Tail" with special guest (and Brooklyn College faculty member) Ronnie Burrage on drums:
The second is my arrangement of Duke's "Come Sunday" featuring 5 of our vocalists and various members of our band (with Global Jazz Masters student Ric Becker's addition of some beautiful horn arranging and playing):
Thanks to my assistant Julian Velasco, and to all members for your invaluable contributions!

The future of the Global Jazz Big Band this Fall (via remote instruction) is still an open question, so we thank you very much for your support of the program.

Sincerely,

- D.D. Jackson
