DACC Students and Families,

We have been keeping an eye on the weather forecast and it does not look good for tomorrow's Senior Pick-Up/Drop-Off event. We have made the call to postpone this event until Thursday, May 21st from 4:00pm - 6:00pm .

As with all other changes this spring, we appreciate your patience and flexibility.

Sophomores and Juniors - your pick-up times will remain May 20th, 21st, and 22nd. However, to accommodate the delayed senior pick-up, here are the available times to come to the school:
  • Wednesday, May 20th: 9:00am - 3:00pm
  • Thursday, May 21st: 9:00am - 12:00pm
  • Friday, May 22nd: 9:00am - 3:00pm

Below are some reminders about these upcoming events. All dates and times have been updated to reflect the new plans.

Senior Completion Ceremony
Don’t forget to join us at 7:00pm on Monday, May 18 th on the DACC district YouTube channel to watch the premiere of our Senior Ceremony. Our staff has worked hard to create a keepsake that our families will be able to hold onto forever. Some of our lab instructors have created watch parties among their classes. I also encourage you to watch with your families and truly celebrate this remarkable moment.

Seniors - Personal Item Pick-Up/ DACC Materials Drop-Off
We are still planning to hold our Senior Completion Ceremony “Pick-Up” on Thursday, May 21st from 4:00pm - 6:00pm

We will keep an eye on the weather and alert you if there is a need to delay this event. Please watch your email that day for any delay announcements.

Here are a few details you will need to know for the pick-up:
  • We will be celebrating in a socially distant manner. Our staff will take all precautions to remain a safe distance away from you and each other, while also wearing masks. Anyone who hands you items will be wearing gloves as well.
  • The “pick-up” will begin at the northeast side of the building by the Law Enforcement garage door. Please see this map for directions.
  • Please do not get out of your car. This is for the safety of others and in order to get everyone through in a timely manner. If you are returning items to us, please put them in your trunk as long as you are able to release the trunk latch from inside your car. We will put any items we are giving to you in your trunk as well.
  • Items that can be returned include Chromebooks, hot spots, and library materials.
  • Items that can be picked up include medications, items you may have left behind, and Completion Certificates.
  • If you have unpaid fees, you will have the option to pay them that afternoon, although it is not required.

Sophomores/Juniors - Personal Item Pick-Up/ DACC Materials Drop-Off
Our teachers are going through the classrooms to make sure we have gathered any of your items that you have left behind. If you have items to return or pick up, you may do so on
  • Wednesday, May 20th: 9:00am - 3:00pm
  • Thursday, May 21st: 9:00am - 12:00pm
  • Friday, May 22nd: 9:00am - 3:00pm

Please drive around to the back of the building and use door O. When you arrive, please call 740-201-3210 to let us know you are here and we will bring you your items. If you're not sure where that door is, please reference this map .

I appreciate your flexibility and patience with our new ceremony and pick-up procedures. Senior families - the line may move slowly when you are here to pick up your materials, so I will ask for your continued patience on that day as well.

I truly wish I could shake each of your hands and I know that our teachers are missing the opportunity to also give you that congratulatory handshake or hug. There will be time for that in the future. Now is the time to continue keeping each other safe.

I look forward to seeing you!. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the ceremony we have created for our completing senior students on Monday night.
Sincerely,

Jim Gaskill
