Workshop participants will be guided through the process of creating short videos about their hepatitis B story and learn how these videos can be shared nationally and in their communities to increase hepatitis B awareness, decrease stigma and discrimination associated with the disease, promote hepatitis B screening and care, and advocate for people living with hepatitis B. After the workshop, participants will join a growing community of #justB storytellers, who receive ongoing training and support from the Hepatitis B Foundation to be champions and spokespeople for hepatitis B issues.

October's
feature video
shares Rensely's story. When Rensely’s husband Kenson was diagnosed with liver disease, the doctor complimented her on her strength. She continued to be strong as she cared for him in his journey through a liver transplant. Eventually, as their resources depleted, Rensely had to go back to work to support the family. While their day-to-day survival is still tenuous, Rensely and her husband have decided to educate Pacific Islander communities in Hawaii, so that other families don’t have to face what they endured.

During 2017, we are highlighting a unique patient story each month. Our
#justB
Storytelling Campaign is a national effort to bring individuals affected by hepatitis B to share their stories to shed light on this serious disease, decrease stigma, discrimination, and promote the importance of testing and treatment for hepatitis B. If you want to host a screening of the videos, we can help! It is a great way to spread the word and engage your local communities! Email
