To Our Dear Lakewood Family...
Know that we are sad to say goodbye in a couple of weeks. We are going to a 55+ community in DeLand called Good Samaritan Lutheran Society. Jeff's dementia is advancing, and the doctor said that we should go sooner rather than later. There we will have a continuum of care and support for whatever comes next. We've been at Lakewood 18 years and it's a tough one. We have some great friends here and so many of you have shown real Christian love and caring to us over the years. But now, with the help of family and friends, we move forward to the next step on our journey. I think we'll like DeLand and we'll be a bit closer to our daughters. I think I'll enjoy exploring the area with its parks, college, and great little downtown. Though I know we'll find another great church, I'll miss you all. I'll miss the positive worship experiences and the fun times we had together. I only regret that we won't be back to church to give you all the hugs we'd love to give, but we won't forget you. We can stay in touch through Facebook until our paths cross again. Love and blessings to you all.
