Onset Updates

Over the last few weeks we've completed Meridian upgrades with Qenos Botany and also Dyno Nobel in Brisbane. Testing is still in progress with Outotec Perth and Sydney, and we're about to start Meridian 2019 upgrades with Queensland Rail and Multinet Gas.

With SA Water we are in the process of enabling Concept and Temporary drawings within Project folders. With Sydney Water we're in the final stages of testing an integration that allows Meridian to act as the back-end document repository for their developer portal.

On holidays recently I managed a quick catchup with the Meridian partner in Belfast, Ireland. Eamon and Brendan met with us at the Pentagon office.

On the development side, we're applying the finishing touches to OCP 2019, adding DWG and PDF viewing.  This version features a new, modernised look and feel, along with a suite of new functionality.  Highlights include:
  • New layout
  • Improved document search
  • Document book-out workflow
  • Document collections
  • Project based reporting
  • Ad-hoc uploads
  • Native and PDF viewing
  • Cloud support (coming soon)

Events
We're now getting ready for this year's TEMC event in Adelaide. TEMC 2019 runs 29 September to 02 October at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

This year we're sponsoring a barista cart and it's great to see that the venue has sustainability policies around food, packaging and recycling, so we're working with the venue to ensure our coffee cups meet these guidelines.

Make sure to visit our stand at the exhibition to collect an additional gift from Onset Design.

What's New in Meridian 2019 R2

In our last newsletter we announced that the new Meridian 2019 release was available for Meridian Enterprise (on-premise). The Meridian 2019 R2 release is now available, including support for the Autodesk 2020 product family.

The major themes of Meridian Enterprise 2019 R2 are:
  • Support for the latest CAD applications (synchronize)
  • New, smaller, and simpler PowerWeb client setup for non-CAD users
  • Third-party component updates
  • Numerous quality, stability, and performance improvements
Additional minor enhancements, third-party application support, and bug fixes are also included.

The AutoVue viewer does not support the AutoCAD 2020 drawing format, but Autodesk DWG TrueView 2020 is also now supported for Meridian Enterprise and Explorer. Many sites now choose to deploy the Autodesk viewer in place of AutoVue.

For our customers with Autodesk subscriptions, the time is now right to upgrade to Meridian 2019 R2 and stay in synch with your Autodesk product.

With Meridian 2019 now available, previous versions such as Meridian 2016 and earlier have moved into 'Extended Support'. To ensure your organisation maintains a fully supported version, please  contact us  to commence planning and scheduling with our implementation team. The Supported Software and System Requirements documentation from Accruent is a good starting point, so let us know if you need these critical documents.

GTX Update

And for our GTX customers, there are updates available to both ImageCAD and RasterCAD products.

If your organisation is dealing with a legacy of raster images, the GTX range includes a standalone product, as well as a fully integrated AutoCAD editor.

GTXImage CAD V21.0 is a total raster and vector drawing system for bringing paper drawings into a modern CAD, EDM or GIS environment. This standalone program, includes powerful, industry standard 2D CAD functionality that fully supports comprehensive hybrid raster and over 1500 vector command capabilities. It also provides highly efficient raster enhancement and editing features that permit you to make the most of your legacy drawing archive.

GTXRaster CAD 2020 supports the AutoCAD 2020 release. Fully integrated with AutoCAD's Image Support Module (ISM), all commands, menus, and toolbars are consistent with AutoCAD 2020, providing a productive and very easy-to-learn ribbon user-interface. GTX has consistently enhanced commands to make working with images and raster editing, easier and more productive.
