VISITING MR. GREEN
Closing Weekend!
Visiting Mr. Green
By Jeff Baron
Directed by Janelle Kauffman
Starring Stephen Kauffman and Shane Burrows

Sutter Street Theatre consistently wins recognition as the best acting company in the Sacramento area. The reason for this recognition, I believe, is at least in part due to the yearly visit from the Kauffmans’ Give Us A Hand Productions. Their “Visiting Mr. Green” is only one – if perhaps their best – gift to theater lovers like me. --Jerry Camp, Folsom Telegraph CLICK HERE FOR ENTIRE REVIEW!

Mr. Green (Stephen Kauffmen), an elderly, retired dry cleaner, wanders into New York traffic and is almost hit by a car driven by Ross Gardiner (Shane Burrows), a 29-year-old corporate executive. The young man is given a community service of helping the recent widower once a week for six months. What starts as a comedy about two men who do not want to be in the same room together becomes a gripping and moving drama as they get to know each other, come to care about each other, and open old wounds they’ve been hiding and nursing for years. Translated into 24 languages, with over 500 productions in large and small venues, it has won numerous best play and best actor awards throughout the world.

Playing through August 18 on Friday and Saturday at 8:00pm and Sunday at 4:00pm

The Wizard of Oz brings its magic to Sutter Street Theatre

The most beloved tale of all time comes to life on the stage. Dorothy and her three friends trot delightfully and tunefully down that fabled road of yellow brick in The Wizard of Oz.

After a tornado whisks her away to the magical land of Oz, young Dorothy Gale teams up with a Scarecrow, a Tin Woodsman and a Cowardly Lion to find the mighty Wizard of Oz, who can send her home. Along the way, they must avoid the clutches of the Wicked Witch of the West, who is trying to steal the mysterious magic slippers that once belonged to her evil sister
but are now on Dorothy’s feet. Dorothy eventually learns just how magical friendship can be and how wonderful it can feel to go home again.
Fun for all ages from little tykes to grandparents.

The Wizard of Oz (Young Performers Edition) plays through August 18 on Saturdays and Sundays at 1:00pm.

Tickets are General $18, Seniors $16, Students with ID $15, Children 12 and under $13. For online reservations go to www.SutterStreetTheatre.com or call (916) 353-1001.
