Ohio's school districts recently learned that the state's stay-at-home order prohibits congregate gatherings, including prom and graduation.
The news was released through the following statement by the Ohio Department of Education:
"... schools should hold events virtually rather than conducting in-person events of this type, and record these events whenever possible and practicable. Congregate graduation ceremonies should not be held. Additionally, we recommend holding a virtual or alternate recognition on the original intended graduation date or a date very close to that date."

We have a tentative graduation date scheduled for Sunday, June 28th to celebrate the Class of 2020 in the Ralph P. Adams Stadium. Obviously, there are a number of details to work out to make this happen, and we are also prepared to move the ceremony to July if necessary.
Please know that we will do whatever is possible and allowable within the Governor's orders to conduct a meaningful ceremony.
Under no circumstances will we disregard a directive from the Governor. The only way we can begin to think about a ceremony is if the Governor relaxes the mass gathering and stay-at-home policies currently in place. Stay tuned to Tom Talks for further developments!

FOOTBALL PLAYERS RECOGNIZED | Please join me in giving a big shout out to senior football players Carson Horstman and Ryan Selig. Carson and Ryan were slated to play in the annual North/South All-Star game this past Saturday sponsored by the State Football Coaches Association. Being selected to play in the game is a tremendous honor.
