Dear AUHSD Parents & Guardians,

We continue our planning for the start of the 2020-2021 school year in August. To inform our planning, we launched a survey last week to better understand parent perspective by asking for your greatest areas of concern and asking you to reflect on our recent distance learning program. (If you have not completed the survey, the link is below. The survey will close at midnight tonight.)

Tonight we are launching a digital crowd-sourced problem-based inquiry to get more parent perspective on the reopening of schools. The platform, Thought Exchange, will ask you a couple quick multiple choice questions and one open-ended question related to the start of next school year. You are encouraged to spend a couple minutes submitting a few responses to the question, and then a few more minutes to rank the responses submitted by others. You will rank on a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being for low agreement and 5 being for high agreement. We encourage you to come back to the site later to rank thoughts submitted following your initial engagement. Here is the link to the platform and question. We will close the Thought Exchange at noon on Wednesday.

We will review the results of both the traditional survey and the open-ended inquiry at our Board meeting on Wednesday evening.

If you have not had the chance to complete the traditional survey launched last week, please do so now as it will close this evening. Here is the survey link.

Thank you for your time and input.

Sincerely,

John Nickerson
