Since March 10th the Medical Society of Delaware has emailed daily COVID-19 Updates to both our members and non-members. MSD feels strongly that during this crisis, we need to share important, timely, and accurate information to all Delaware physicians regardless of membership status. Now that things have settled down a bit, MSD will be sending MSD COVID-19 Updates "as needed" when important, timely information presents itself. DPH Announces Eleven Additional COVID-19 Deaths
9,236 Confirmed Cases - 356 Total Deaths in Delaware
According to the Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH), Delaware has eleven additional fatalities related to COVID-19, totaling 356 Delawareans who have died as a result of the virus.  Five of today's deaths are related to long-term care facilities. Ten individuals had underlying health conditions. The age range of today's deaths was 45 to 94.

The latest Delaware COVID-19 statistics include:
  • 9,236  total laboratory-confirmed cases
  • New Castle County cases: 3,629
  • Kent County cases: 1,401
  • Sussex County cases: 4,155
  • Unknown: 51
  • Age range: 0 to 103
  • Hospitalized: 183; Critically ill: 32

Gov. Carney Issues Guidance for "Phase 2"
Camps / Summer Schools Prepare to Open
Governor John Carney has issued reopening guidance for summer camps and summer school. Recreational camps are required to develop a written plan for enforcing social distancing, frequent hand-washing, and other basic public health precautions. DPH strongly encourages camps and summer school programs to limit groups to 15 children, plus staff. What to Expect for "Phase 1" 
Delaware's Strategic Reopening Plan
As Delaware continues to make strides in reopening the First State's economy, Governor John Carney has updated his reopening plan with new information. Starting Monday, June 1st, Delawarean's will begin to see a significant shift in how things have been. Read updated Phase 1 reopening plan.
