REGISTRATION IS OPEN FOR OUR 2019 EVENTS!
At Wellspring Group we live on mission to see men and women increasingly becoming who God created them to be, as they experience the transforming love of God. We are eager to see this transformation overflow into multiple generations. In August of this year, we had one family experience this as 3 generations of women were present at the Battle for Women’s Hearts. Read more of the story as Alan and Aminta Palmer share how they were impacted to see the fruit of their long-term engagement and personal investment in the Wellspring story.
The goal of every parent is that their offspring “launch” from their shoulders…the hope that the foundation we build as parents stands firm and does not require being rebuilt with each generation. Many of us don’t get to see, experience the fruit of our labors…the legacy we leave behind. But when we do get to see and taste of that fruit, it is truly sweet.

My husband and I have facilitated a small group of couples in our home for several years. Both of my granddaughters are in this group, doing ‘life’ together. This year we began to build a team from this community group to attend the Battle for Women's Hearts (BWH) and ended up with two teams, each containing one of my granddaughters. My excitement grew as I realized that I would be at a Battle event this fall with both of my granddaughters AND my daughters – at the same time! My daughters are both on the Wellspring Staff and Abby usually facilitates at the BWH event while my oldest daughter, Anisa, typically facilitates only at the BYD events…but this BWH event would be different. At the BWH this August, my two daughters facilitated the two teams containing me and my two granddaughters ( Anisa's daughters).
I have been blessed to witness both my daughter’s parent their children with tools I did not have when I was in their shoes. To see them pursue the hearts of those in their home/domain fills me with hope for their generations. To experience my two oldest grandchildren follow in those footsteps and learn to live from their whole heart and be equipped to make choices based on their deepest desires and the essence of who God created them to be is beyond any expectation I would have had for this lifetime.
When I saw the picture of three generations of women in my family (my wife, two daughters and two granddaughters) attending the same BWH I was not prepared for my response. As tears rolled down my face, all I could do was let them flow. My attempt to stop the tears was futile as my vision was impaired to the extent that I thought I would have to pull over the car. Unlike many times when I savor the moment in the moment, I decided to reflect on what was happening inside me as I looked at the picture again. Feelings of joy, hope, pride, and thankfulness flooded my heart. I have often stated that the women in my family come from a long line of strong women. in that moment, I saw that strength in that picture. Women who have, can and will make a difference.
As I went deeper in my thoughts and feelings I began to see more layers of what God was showing me in that moment. For me, this picture was a culmination of some thoughts I had when I first met my wife. I have doggedly held on to the belief that what God showed me over 40 years ago about the kind of wife and mother she would be (even if it wasn’t apparent to everyone). Looking at that picture in that moment, those 45 year old thoughts were being confirmed to me in a significant way. I saw the generations being impacted.

" There was a sense of ownership as we realized we have had a ‘part to play’ in this Larger Story. We all play a part as we take the Battle home. "

My husband and I have been involved with Wellspring Group since its inception. As it has grown into the ministry that it is today, we have grown with it and expanded our own capacity to impact our domain. We are seeing fruit beyond our own family.

Earlier this year, as both my husband and I attended the Battle for Your Domain (BYD) event (on the weekend of our 45 th anniversary) I was overwhelmed with gratitude to see the young couples taking these tools home with them to use in their families and churches. There was a sense of ownership as we realized we have had a ‘part to play’ in this Larger Story. We all play a part as we take the Battle home.

The Aug 2018 BWH will forever be stamped on my heart. To stand with the four women in my family, representing three generations of Wellspring women was sweet indeed. One thing my dear friend, Larry Bolden, has taught me to do is to ‘Savor’ these moments. To ‘savor’ is to take the time to be grateful, and fully feel the weight of this occasion. My heart is that this is just the first of many for this ministry – that we will see multiple generations of men and women in the years to come.
