Dear STREB Community,

As we enter our sixth week of remote programming, we'd like to take a moment to reflect on what has been a whirlwind for all of us, and share some unexpected silver linings that have come with this new way of interacting.

In these past five weeks, we've had over 280 registrations for our free Zoom class offerings - more than we typically see in in our usual open registration classes. We've been able to add new classes with different teaching artists, and we have seen new communities build around each. We've welcomed people from our past, students in different time zones, and a surprising number of first time students. Our core tenet of "Personal Best" has truly been put into play as our teachers see a wide range of ages and levels as well as an impressive range of environments, space limitations, obstacles and life interruptions in each class. We've witnessed siblings, parents, and children spontaneously joining in on the action, as well as some families coordinating their schedules to take a class together.

In our KidAction classes, we continue to experiment, re-vamp, learn and innovate, and we’ve been heartened to receive videos of the creative action that our classes have apparently inspired beyond the timeframe of the classes. As we've dug through the archives and shared new interviews with Elizabeth, we've had the opportunity to step back and appreciate both her process and the arc of her amazing work, and could not be more inspired and excited for what the future will bring (including the premiere of her new work, HORIZON LINE, for our upcoming virtual gala!) . This past week, we shared more from Elizabeth about her drawings and how they become a finished piece and senior company member and 12-year Action Hero veteran Jackie Carlson dug deep into her relationship with fear and how it plays into the work

When we began all of this, we asked for your patience, and promised to continuously learn, adapt and improve. We did not expect to gain as much as we have from this experience, so once again, we thank you so much for joining us and sharing with us on this journey!

We are thrilled to announce that we now have an online store where you can order all your favorite classic STREB gear as well as a special new limited edition collection of apparel designed exclusively for STREB by artist Voodo Fé . Special thanks to our Emcee/DJ/Tech Director Zaire Baptiste and Nyree Haynes for facilitating this exciting collaboration! Check it out!
