Undocumented Student Week of Action Set For Oct. 15-19
Fullerton College will join more than 40 community colleges and organizations across California that will host events for Undocumented Student Week of Action, October 15 - 19. This campaign will advocate for a permanent solution to codify the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that includes a pathway to citizenship, and to provide support and resources to all undocumented students.

President's Open Forum to Feature Panel
Fullerton College President Dr. Greg Schulz invites the campus community to his next President's Open Forum today at 2 p.m. in Building 200, Room 224. The
forum will include updates from President Schulz on events and activities at the college. In addition, a panel of students and alumni will share their experiences at Fullerton College, including applying, enrolling, taking classes and student support services. This discussion is a pilot activity, the first of several to come, as the Guided Pathways Steering Committee and the college community work to develop the Fullerton College Guided Pathways framework. Food Bank Addresses Food Insecurity at Fullerton College
Located in Room 1955, the Chris Lamm & Toni DuBois Memorial Food Bank is open on Tuesdays from noon - 2 p.m. and 4 - 6:30 p.m. To utilize the food bank, students must be enrolled in at least three units and bring their school schedule along with their school ID. The food bank offers fresh produce, canned goods, hygiene products, school supplies, cold water, and more.

Great ShakeOut Drill Ready to Roll Oct. 18
The entire Fullerton College campus, including NOCE's Wilshire Center, will participate in the statewide Great Shakeout earthquake drill on Oct. 18 at 10:18 a.m. The drill will include evacuations of all buildings and demonstrations of the Stryker evacuation chairs. Before the drill begins, the campus community will receive a test of the mass emergency communication system. A text message, voicemail and email will be sent. Child Development Presents the 2nd annual Chris Lamm Lecture
The Child Development and Educational Studies Department will host the 2nd annual Chris Lamm Lecture on
Friday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. in the Wilshire Auditorium. Author, researcher and advocate Diane Levin, PhD will present a lecture called "Endangered Play, Endangered Development: Why Play is Even More Important in the 21st Century And What We Can Do To Promote It." This lecture is free to attend, but the department encourages guests to contribute monetary donations or two canned goods to benefit the Child Lab School and the Fullerton College Food Bank.
Coffee with the Board of Trustees and Chancellor
The college community is invited to Coffee with the Board of Trustees and Chancellor at Fullerton College on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 3 p.m. in Building 200, Rooms 224-228. The coffee is an informal and open discussion where guests may ask questions or just listen to the conversation. Chancellor Cheryl Marshall will also have an open office hour on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 10 a.m. in Building 100. Cypress College will host a coffee on Monday, Oct. 8 at 10 a.m. in the CC Complex 414 along with an open office hour on Monday, Oct. 8 at 10:30 a.m. in the Cypress President's Conference Room.

Adopt an Angel This Holiday Season
The EOPS/CARE, CalWORKs and FYSI programs are currently in the planning stages for the annual Adopt an Angel Student-Parent Holiday Party on Friday, Dec. 7. EOPS/CARE, CalWORKS and FYSI are in need of gifts for the children of student-parents that are part of these programs. Beginning on Monday, Nov. 5, staff and faculty interested in adopting an angel may stop by the FYSI/CARE office in Room 2002. Please drop off gifts by Friday, Nov. 30. This event is also supported by monetary donations and donors can receive a tax-deductible receipt when dropping off a donation to FYSI/CARE.

The Hornets remained on course at home Saturday cruising past Cerritos College 35-25 in an SCFA Central Division game.
Ranked No. 1 in the state and No. 2 in the nation, the Hornets kept their undefeated streak intact at 26 straight wins shutting down the Falcon's potent running attack. Up Next: The Hornets (7-0 overall, 2-0 Central Division) have a bye next Saturday but will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 27 when they host San Diego Mesa College. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. Come on out and support your Hornets!
Women's Volleyball
The Hornets earned two big Orange Empire Conference wins at home Wednesday sweeping through No. 21 in state Riverside City College 3-0 and then went on to beat Golden West 3-0 at home Friday. Up Next: Fullerton (9-5 overall, 4-4 OEC) will play at Santa Ana College on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 5 p.m.
Women's Soccer
Fullerton played to a 2-2 tie on Friday at home against OEC rival Irvine Valley College. Up Next: FC (8-3-2 overall, 5-2-2 OEC) travels to Orange Coast College on Tuesday, Oct. 16. Game time is at 3 p.m.
Men's Soccer
The Hornets and Lasers of Irvine Valley College locked horns to a scoreless tie on Friday. Up Next: FC (11-2-1 overall, 6-1-1 OEC) hosts Orange Coast College on Tuesday, Oct. 16. Game time is at 3 p.m.
Men's Water Polo
On Friday, the men's water polo squad played at the Santa Monica Mini Tournament winning one and losing one. In game one, the Hornets lost to Santa Monica 21-12, but then pick it up in the second game beating El Camino 14-11. Up Next: Fullerton (6-12 overall, 0-3 OEC) hosts Orange Coast College on Wednesday, Oct. 17 for another Orange Empire Conference matchup. Game time is at 4 p.m.
Women's Cross Country
Freshman Rebeca Perez had a fantastic race at the Mount San Antonio College Invite last Friday running the course two minutes faster than she did when she was in high school with a time of 20:31. She placed 15th overall out of 92 total runners. Freshmen teammates Ashley Lord ran 24:17 and 22 runners later came Kimberly Estrada Rodriguez. Up Next: The OEC Championships will be held on Friday, Oct. 26 at Riverside City College. Race time is at 9 a.m.
Men's Cross Country
T
he Hornets finished in seventh place overall at the Mount San Antonio College Invite last Friday. The athletes put together their best race of the season posting 200 points. Ian Rusk led the pack finishing at 22:58, and Mauro Rosales was not too far behind coming in at 23:02. Andrew Fernando finished at 23:15. All three runners finished in the top 35 spots of the race. Fernando shaved 43-seconds off from last year's race time. William Gerard crossed the finish line at 24:47, and Ryan Sheatz finished at 25:21. Sean Wing (25:43) and Matthew Worrall (25:47) ran sixth and seventh for the team. Up Next: The OEC Championships will be Friday, Oct. 26 at Riverside City College. Race time is at 9:45 am.

Luz examines the transformative power of light through the lenses of mythology, technology, society, and science, and features the work of Alison Kudlow, Amor Muñoz, and Christine Nguyen, among others.
Symphonic Winds
Thursday, Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m., Campus Theatre
The Symphonic Winds ensemble is the major performing group for wind, brass and percussion music majors at Fullerton College. This ensemble performs standard band literature as well as commissioning new works from both students and established composers. Entrance in the ensemble is by audition. Non-majors are also welcome to join this ensemble.
