COVID-19 Update

As we enter the final days of the school year, I want to reiterate my appreciation for our school community and the hard work displayed by our teachers, staff, parents, and students.  I recognize that this has not been an easy process, but I am grateful for everyone's efforts.  Please remember that the last day for instruction is on Friday, May 22.  To that end, we will still be mailing 4th quarter report cards this year.  We will include the Bear and Cub awards for grades 5-7 in the envelope along with a few other pieces of information for next school year.  Additionally, we  will continue to offer bagged meals for families affected by the closure of schools on Monday and Thursday of each week .   Parents who are interested in receiving meals should complete this  electronic form   or call 440-582-9041 for each child by 5:00 PM the day before the meal is requested.

As we approach the end of the school year, please do not hesitate to  contact your child's teacher, school counselor, grade level principal, or me with any questions.

Thanks,
Jeff

8th Grade Promotion Video
Thank you to the hard work of several 8th grade students and Mr. Filips, we plan to release an 8th Grade Promotion Video on Thursday, May 21.  We will set a date in the coming weeks for students to pick up their promotion certificate, along with the Bear, Cub, and/or any other awards earned.

Washington D.C. Extended Field Trip
Through continued dialogue with Nowak Tours, the travel guidelines currently issued by the CDC, and the state's recommendations for social distancing, we have decided to cancel the extended field trip to Washington D.C.  Please know that this decision was not taken lightly and by making a decision now, we can start issuing refunds.  Note that students who registered for the field trip will get all, but $25.00 refunded to them.

Yearbooks
Please know that yearbooks will not be shipped to the middle school until late May. I will follow up once we have an exact date for student distribution.  Our plan is to distribute yearbooks and 8th Grade Promotion certificates/awards together.

Student Council Leadership Applications
Any 7th grade students interested in being part of the 2020/2021 Student Council Leadership team should complete this Google Form by May 22.
