Church Reopening on May 31 at 9:30 am

Hello,
Family Heritage Church, I have good news for you. After weeks of meeting online on Zoom and live stream, I see the light at the end of the tunnel. We are meeting in person at the church on May 31. Now again, situations are changing every day. So, this may change, but until you hear otherwise, we will meet on May 31 at 9:30 am. Please note that our new service time is 9:30 am.

You faithfully prayed for each other and Family Heritage Church. You supported the church financially. And I want to thank you for that. Thank you for supporting the church ministries by being part of the different studies on zoom. Thank you for making phone calls, sending cards, checking on our elderly members, and many other ways you have exemplified your love for Christ. Well done, saints.

I want to take this time to thank you for your perseverance. You stayed strong through this difficult time. And though our building has been closed, our church has not closed. Thank you for being a great church!

As 1 Thessalonians 1:6-8, “And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit, so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything. “

And I am sure that you will continue fervently in the Lord in the days to come.
As an Elder board, we have been praying, talking, and preparing for our church reopening. A Scripture verse that has helped us make important decisions regarding the protocol of meeting as a church physically is Mark 12:31, which reads, “love your neighbor as yourself. All our decisions stem from that principle.

And we want to encourage you to follow the same principle as you interact with other people during this COVID-19 pandemic. Follow the CDC guidelines and make responsible decisions as adults. Please look for an email with church reopening information and CDC guidelines.

When we reopen on May 31, we ask that if you are considered “at risk” to stay home and continue to participate in the service online. Also, if you have any cold, or fever, or sore throat or any other illness, we ask that you participate in the service online.

We also humbly ask that you practice social distancing. That means no hugs, no shaking hands. We need to stay at a safe distance from each other. We encourage you to wear masks as we want to keep the FHC community safe, but we are going to let the wearing of masks be optional.

Families with children, I am sorry to announce that the churches have been given guidelines not to have any children’s ministry for three weeks. We completely understand if you decide to stay home and watch the service online because it may be difficult to keep your children for an hour and a half in the sanctuary. But you are welcome to bring your kids to church on Sunday. Maybe you can bring a coloring book or something to keep them engaged.

Hand sanitizers are stationed at the entrance to the sanctuary as we come into the sanctuary. Please use the double doors on your right to enter the sanctuary. The doors will remain open before and after the service. The doors will be closed during the worship service.

We will not be passing offertory plates or bags around during the offertory. Instead, we have an offertory box located near the entrance. You may put your offering into the box on your way in or on your way out.

We are in the process of cleaning up the church and getting it sanitized and ready.

Some of our faithful men and women have been working very hard for the last couple of days in making our church beautiful. The lights are changed on the parking lot, and now the campus looks well lit. There has been work done in the sanctuary. I don’t want to give it away if you haven’t already heard. Come and See for yourself.

So, when you return on May 31, you would be able to come back to the church with some exciting changes.

As an Elder board, we are praying for you, and we are very excited that the Lord is allowing us to meet, and we are looking forward to seeing you this Sunday, May 31.

Blessings
Pastor Sam
