Self-actualization never ends. It's never too late and one is never too old to evolve and grow emotionally. Below you'll find a poem by a friend who is 82.

Launched

Ground me.
Grind me down into the ground
until I cease to squirm
Until I still.

and begin to feel the fullness
from inside
where there's no guide
Or light to follow.

Hollow me
of habits, fears, anxiety
and grind me down into the ground
until I cannot breathe the fetid air
Of my own making.

Take me down another notch or two
Until my face turns blue with You
And all the fight and flight subsides
And I detect a Light inside

Power kicking in when
I give up the Ghost of Triumphs Past,
(the darlings that I hold to fast)
And let the launch begin.

The pulse.
The steady throbbing beat
In feet, then legs, then groin, then gut,
Then heart.

My Source of Song re-found.
I'm fueled for travel to the moon.
(We've never really been apart.
She's been there all along.)

Blast off!
