WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS AND SCORES
Boys Soccer played Spring-Ford on Monday. The Panthers were outpaced by the Rams dropping the game 5-0. John Wagner '19 had five saves in the net. On Wednesday, the Panthers rebounded with a win over visiting Pottstown. S ean Lapree '19 , Zach Murtaugh '19 , and Brett Leighton '19 each netted two goals a piece. Sal Marano '19, Calvin O'Neil '19 and AJ Williams '19 all tallied one goal a piece in the 9-2 win. The team finished the week traveling back to Upper Perkiomen to continue a game that was suspended due to weather. The Panthers came up just short losing the game 2-1. Girls Soccer only played one game this week due to weather. On Thursday, the team traveled to Upper Merion where they won 2-0. The Panthers kept their PAC playoff hopes alive thanks to goals from Julie Cherneskie '19 and Delaney Didier '21 . The Upper Perkiomen game from Friday the 12th is rescheduled to Monday October 15th. Boys and Girls Cross Country finished the regular season on Wednesday, which was also Senior Day. Both teams swept the visiting Upper Merion Vikings. The boys defeated Upper Merion 19-37, while the girls score was 20-43. Jack Philips '19 was the 1st place finisher in his last home race with a time of 18:32. Jack Brosius '21 came in second followed by Kaden Buchler '21. PJP also had the 6th and 7th spot as well as the 10th spot. On the girls' side Gianna Cagliola '22 was the 1st PJP girl to finish the line with a time of 23:24 which was good enough for 2nd overall. The Panthers finished in spots 2nd- 8th to capture the win. Senior Julia Costello '19 finished 4th. Congratulations to all the Seniors that were celebrated including Philips, Costello, JP Schiele, Mary Cleary, Elana Figliuolo, Elizabeth Wiggs and Jason Kost. Girls Tennis competed in the PAC Doubles Championships on Friday. Jillan Boyle '19 and Jordan Miller '19 defeated their Upper Perkiomen counterparts in the first round 7-5, 6-1. Unfortunately the girls were knocked out in the second round. The doubles team of Veronica Marinari '21 and Maggie Christiansen '20 also defeated their opponents in the first round with scores of 6-1, 6-1. Golf won their first ever PIAA AA District 1 Team Championship on Tuesday. The Panthers defeated New-Hope Solebury to come away with the title. The Panthers were led by Paul Brady '22 (87), Ben Grimm '19 (87), Ethan Slover '19 (85), Jason Teefy '19 (83) and Alex White '22 (85). Field Hockey traveled to Chester County on Monday to take on Kennett. The Panthers dropped the non league game 7-1. The lone goal for PJP was scored by Nina Mariano '20 . took on Pottstown on Tuesday, which was also their Senior day. The Panthers defeated the Trojans 3-1. Madisan Green '19 scored all 3 goals for her third hat trick of the season. The Panthers celebrated 7 Seniors including, Green, Isabel Ameer, Maddie Bildstein, Lauren Brennan, Christine Heflin, Molly Moore and Caroline Slattery. The Panthers finished the week at home against Upper Perkiomen. The team battled but could not overcome a tough UP team. The Panthers lost 4-0. Volleyball traveled to Villa Maria where they took down the top seeded Hurricanes in three straight sets. Maddie Mulcahey '19 , Chelsea Harvey '21 and Lexi McMonagle '20 led the stat sheet for the Panthers. The team finished out the regular season at home on Wednesday against PV. The Panthers fought hard for the win, downing the Vikings 3-2 on Senior Day. Mulcahey , Sara Ward '20 , and Hana Tulli '21 combined for 46 kills. Harvey contributed 50 assists while Maddie Lesinski '19 added 10 assists. The Panthers celebrated 10 Seniors including Mulcahey, Lesinski, Sophia Bonnano, Olivia Debald, Caitlin Gilinger, Valerie Hull, Madison Lewis, Mikaela Monroe, Taylor Roberto and Simone Sparano. Football defeated Pottstown on Friday night 20-12. After what seemed like it was going to be a night of total domination by PJP after Liam Haffey '21 picked off Pottstown on their first play of the game. Kamal Gray '20 threw for 145 yards on 29 passes and two touchdowns, both to CJ McCafferty '19 . AJ Natale '19 capped the scoring on a 9 yard running touchdown in the 4th quarter. Stephen Skarberk '20 and Justin Mitala '20 each also had an interception in the game which was very defense heavy. ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Madeline Mulcahey, Senior, Volleyball
Mulcahey lead the Panthers in two huge victories this week as the team completed the regular season. On Monday, the team defeated #1 ranked Villa Maria Academy in three straight sets, delivering well rounded stats- 8 kills, 9 digs, 2 aces, and 11 service points. On Wednesday, the team beat Perkiomen Valley in 5 exciting and close sets. Mulcahey had 12 kills and 10 digs in the win. She will play volleyball at Elizabethtown College next fall.
GAME OF THE WEEK
Game of the week is Football. The 7-1 Panthers are taking on the 7-1 Upper Merion Vikings. The winner of this game will be the 2nd place team in the Frontier Division. A win over Upper Merion would also help the Panthers to stay on top of the District 1 AAA standings. This Saturday's game is also homecoming! Make sure you come out to support the boys as well as the cheer team at 1 PM.
