Are you a SNOMED, HL7 or CDA geek with practical experience?
We need you!
A HISA member has expressed interest in having a
professional mentor who is happy to share their knowledge and practical experience with SNOMED CT-AU implementation, HL7 v2.x and CDA conformance specifications in Victoria. Your practical experience in hospital implementations will help. This is a
great opportunity for you to provide guidance and support for a young emerging career professional within health informatics. Mentors from Victoria are sought for this particular individual, but HISA members from all over are encouraged to
participate in HISA's mentorship program as a mentor or mentee - just fill out
this form and we will be in touch!

Career profiles in health informatics
One of the suggestions you have made is for us to have sample position descriptions for job roles in health informatics - and we are making it so! If you could
please send through your position descriptions we will use them to assemble templates for various roles. We know there is a wealth of job titles, from project manager, business analyst, CMIO, CIO etc and all are relevant. We won't be sharing your document with anyone outside of HISA staff and what is released will be generic templates.
As a 'thank you' for taking the time, you will
go into the draw to go to the movies on HISA! Please send them to
membership@hisa.org.au

RPA Digital Health Symposium wrap up
Greg Moran, Jon Carrano and I attended the inaugural RPA Digital Health Symposium, organised by the JMO Innovations Group, of which HISA Board Member Dr Martin Seneviratne played a major part.
It was a fantastic offering, introducing four clinician-entrepreneur sessions addressing digital solutions to medical problems, followed by a digital health panel featuring George Margelis, Vince McCauley, Tal Rapke, Charlie Farah and Dave Abelson.
The clinician-entrepreneurs were so committed to digital solutions and all explained the solutions they created very well. The panel described their journey from the clinical environment to the digital world, and also gave their views on how health and digital health would look in 10 years.
It was a really stimulating night, and I look forward to attending these symposiums in 2016.

Director of Studies, Health Services Management Deputy Director, Centre for Health Services Management Faculty of Health | University of Technology
