Message from the CEO
Congratulations to outstanding Australian health informaticians and HISA members Prof Enrico Coiera, A/Prof Terry Hannan and Prof Johanna Westbrook who along with Prof Evelyn Hovenga and Prof Siaw-Teng Liaw have been recognised by the international body IMIA and voted in to the inaugural first class of the International Academy of Health Sciences Informatics (IAHSI). We applaud such recognition of excellence! It’s a timely reminder that nominations for HISA’s own Jon Hilton Award for Excellence in Primary Care Informatics close on 20 June. A dedicated informatician, the late Jon Hilton was a major contributor to HISA for more than 20 years. Continued recognition of our health informatics “champions” serves to show us how far we have progressed.
