Emergency Preparedness - BOLD Planning Workshop 1

Training Overview:   The development of comprehensive and user-friendly Healthcare Emergency and Continuity Plan (HCECP) is of vital importance to health centers for emergency preparedness. Health centers must be prepared to continually meet patient care responsibilities in the face of a major disaster as well as during small, routine disruptions. BOLDplanning's Emergency Continuity Plan (ECP) software has been selected to assist with the development of these HCECPs for DCPCA-member health centers. In workshop #1, BOLDplanning will train health center staff on the use of the software tool and health center's will review the first draft of their facility-level plans that have been set up by BOLDplanning using health center's information. 

Who Should Attend:
  • Emergency Preparedness Task Force Members
  • Any DCPCA-member health center operations and administrative staff involved in emergency preparedness

Registration:
  • The same workshop will be held on two days: September 11th and 12th. Please select the date that works best for your team.
  • Participation in this training is required to receive and use the software for emergency preparedness.

Join us at our Qual IT semi-annual conference! This is expected to be our biggest and best conference  yet as we welcome our new member health centers in Maryland and New Jersey to the network!

The Qual IT Care Alliance network is a partnership of HealthEfficient, DCPCA, and MACHC. Our network is growing from 27 to 36 member health centers.

Join your peers and colleagues to discuss innovations and solutions to advance your health center goals! You will not want to miss this opportunity to hear from outside speakers and meet colleagues new and old. This conference is structured for collaboration and open-discussion so you'll have a chance to learn from and collaborate with your peers. 
 
This conference will feature sessions on exciting topics, including: 
  • Patient engagement through community partners 
  • Oral health integration, including our new large-scale, multi-year, HRSA-funded pediatric oral health project
  • Reducing provider burden 
  • Risk-stratification and care management 
  • Working with payers to maximize revenue and reduce denials 
  • Building or expanding programs to address Opioid Use Disorder 
  • Protecting the information related to substance abuse and compliance with 42 CFR Part 2

We have four "tracks" at this conference, and we encourage people from different departments at your health center to attend:  clinical; operations & rev cycle; executives; and IT.

TEAM Training: Supporting Culturally-Sensitive Cancer Care
The George Washington University (GW) Cancer Center offers a new online training, Together, Equitable, Accessible, Meaningful (TEAM) . This no-cost training aims to improve the productivity of patient-provider interactions through individual and systems-level approaches, and it seeks to provide health care professionals with knowledge and strategies to support patient-provider communication and employ culturally sensitive practices.

Learning Objectives:
  • Identify factors and barriers that lead to health inequities
  • Describe how implicit bias and assumptions adversely influence patient-provider communication and care
  • Discuss strategies for culturally respectful and affirming interpersonal exchanges with patients

Free E-Learning Behavioral Intervention for Improving MAT Outcomes
SAMHSA-sponsored Provider Clinical Support Services released a free e-learning program for health professionals, Behavioral Interventions for MAT: Improving Outcomes . It provides information on four evidence-based practices that effectively treat the behavioral aspects of addiction in conjunction with MAT. Participants are eligible to receive continuing education credits upon successful completion of the program.
