The financial impact of this global pandemic has hit virtually every non-profit, business and household throughout the world. So many people have reached out expressing their concern for us and the long term ramifications this crisis will have on RHTH and for that we are most grateful. Like everyone else, we have taken a short term beating financially with so many unforeseen operational losses due to COVID-19. But this is some truly great news to report for the long-term stability of Restoring Hope Transplant House going into the future and we wanted to share that with you. In the midst of one of the greatest disasters of our lifetime, our hearts are full from the generosity and love of others!❤️
Temporarily Closed Due To Coronavirus and Safer At Home Declaration

With Governor Evers "Safer at Home" declaration throughout Wisconsin and the Coronavirus peak upon us recently, we made the very difficult decision to temporarily close our doors here at Restoring Hope Transplant House for the first time since opening in 2013.   
 
Moving forward, we are working on a daily basis for the future of this house and will always have a presence here even if we are unable to open our doors. There have been some exciting developments with the house of late so we look forward in some ways to narrowing our focus a bit during these difficult times and plotting our course for the future.
 
We will certainly be in constant contact with state and local health care officials throughout this process to determine when it is safe re-open. We appreciate your support, understanding and loyalty to Restoring Hope Transplant House and look forward to seeing you back at the house real soon!

Now more than ever is the time to check up on friends and loved ones.  We are so relieved to see so many of our Restoring Hope Transplant House family members and friends smiling back at us from the comforts of home.  Looking good everyone...we miss you and look forward to seeing you all very soon!

A Message To Our Heroes At UW Hospital

Dear UW Hospital Staff,
 
Please know how much your efforts to serve families in need during these extreme days is appreciated by our entire Restoring Hope Transplant House family. We have a doctor, nurse, police officer and teacher in the immediate family not to mention our lives as a transplant family. So, to some degree, we understand the incredible sacrifices you are all making for the well-being of our community. We are so incredibly grateful for all you do!
 
This past week, we even had one of our old transplant recipient guests excitedly reach out shortly after finishing a 5 mile run. It was her longest run since transplant and she was so overjoyed as text after text rolled in. "I wish I could talk to them. They don't realize how much they changed my life!" read one text in reference to the UW Hospital staff that cared for her. All your sacrifices are so very life-changing to the people who come through our doors.  We appreciate all you are doing when your time and talents were needed the most!
Thanks For Being Amazing!
We continue to do our very best to support our local community, friends and family as they have been so supportive of us.  I cannot tell you how many times the past couple months how I have been moved to tears by your kindness.  From the incredible outpouring of birthday wishes and donations I received earlier this month on a day in which I couldn't even gather with family to how many times I've gone to the mailbox and been knocked off my feet by the cards, kind words and contributions.  To those Lions Club friends who have made us masks and helped shop for our groceries so that we can ensure that my cancer survivor husband stays as risk-free as possible.  I have lost track of the number of beautiful gestures I have witnessed that have come out of this life-changing crisis.  Those will be my lasting memories of just how much this house was embraced when we truly needed it the most.  We love you all.  Stay safe!
